I came in for lunch yesterday with my friends and ordered one taco. My friend ordered before me and asked for water, and the woman taking our order told us the water was self serve right next to the cash register. When I ordered, I tapped my card to pay and started to help myself to the water right next to me. As I did this, the cashier flipped the iPad and tipped herself on my card and signed for me. Mind you, I was one foot away from the register. She did not ask permission or ask me to sign for myself. I would’ve tipped regardless, but it really rubbed me the wrong way to have the employee take the liberty of giving herself a 20% tip without asking me. I realized she did this when I saw my card was charged higher than the total she told me. I went back up and asked for my receipt and she printed it out for me. She proceeded to tell me the extra charge was from me tipping her and that I must’ve not seen the button. I told her I didn’t press any buttons, and she just shrugged. I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, but if you eat here make sure you immediately finish out the transaction before getting water one foot away or else the employees will help themselves...

WHOA! These were KILLER! Routed here mid-travels after hiking a month or so ago now.

Spoke to the boss-man. He said he uses only the quality local meats and other ingredients without mixing in cheap junk. Even though the supplier encourages him to, claiming no one will notice, he said he’s adamant and doesn’t compromise.

I tell you what! The four tacos we got were the best my fiancƩ and I have ever had. I will say that with confidence. Wowza!!

Don’t skip this joint if your travels permit it. I’d route it in if I’m ever in the area again. Worth it!

To the boss: if you’re reading this, I hope you stick to your commitment to quality ingredients. It made your product a standout. (And doesn’t make for an upset system later on....

Other than the tacos having healthy amounts of meat amd toppings, I did not care for some of the menu items - in particular the Lunch Lady taco and the frozen margaritas. Let's start with the taco. The meat was mushy and tasted burnt; the mole sauce was awful, and did not come close to how mole should taste. I took one bite and could not eat the rest. The other patrons in my group also tasted it and had the same reaction - awful tasting. Flavorless. And the frozen margaritas? They are a great price on the weekends and are over $7.00 on weekdays. For me, I could not taste any alcohol whatsoever, so that was another waste of my hard-earned money. I will not return and am struggling to understand how this place has an overall...

We came here for dinner one night while in BM and had a great experience. This place came recommended from a friend and we could see why! The tacos were excellent and our whole table loved the chips and guac/queso dip. It's counter service, and they recommended '1 taco is a snack, 2 tacos are a meal', so, being hungry, I got three. All three were overflowing to the point I had to eat some before attempting to roll it up (a great problem to have). I love this place and am making it a 'must-have' on our next visit to BM!

Talk about ridiculously large tacos! 😁 My husband and I went for breakfast. We both ordered 2 tacos and I came home with leftovers. I was blown away at how much they put on the tortillas. And they were delicious! I ordered vegetarian tacos (Migas + Bright & Early) and didn't miss the meat. Get the salsa because it's really great! They serve Dynamite coffee, which is a plus. Parking can be tricky when downtown Black Mountain is busy. The best time to go is early Sunday morning!

Our first Taco Billy experience was when we grabbed some tacos to go for our lunch break while driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. BEST TACOS I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! Got the Grandberry and Support Group. Support Group is my most favorite and I get it every time I go! A WORD ABOUT THE CHIPS - The Black Mountain location has a dedicated gluten-free frier so their chips ARE gluten-free; however, at the Asheville location they are not because they have one frier for all the food.
