I know this place is closed right now, but Starbucks has completely declined beyond belief. I worked here in the 2000's at a lovely location on Park Ave in Winter Park, FL. The company cared about atmosphere and great customer service. We had a community and we knew our customers, and they had a wonderful time in the cafe and we enjoyed working there. I also lived in NYC where a group of 4 baristas could serve 50 customers in about 15-20 min tops. The line would be out the door and I would get my drip coffee faster than you can get one today. All the employees with these headsets now are like robots ignoring you, no kindness, no small talk, just serving the drive thru and ignoring the customers who parked and ignoring me when I walk in. I will say the ppl at this location are nice- BUT- I ordered drip coffee and waited over 5 minutes.The drive thru ppl who were in front of me always get their order first. I was the 1st person in line inside. They no longer brew coffee, they use this ridiculous contraption to grind and brew a cup at a time. This is such a regression. In my day as a barista here, a customer coming for a pastry and coffee would have been handed those items by the cashier. Then they would have walked out immediately after paying. No standing for 10 minutes while everyone's frapp's are made. Starbucks is a greedy mess of a corporation that has corrupted coffee culture. I'm done with that. How silly to not just brew a pot of coffee- so backwards- not about the customer...
Read moreKeith, self proclaimed store manager and supervisor, must have been having a bad day? This was my first experience at this location since moving to NC 2018. Keith refused to make my coffee, and closed the window on me in the drive through after having handed back my payment. Very confused as to why this happened, but he seemed very upset about something. Never have had any issues with any other locations for four years now, and highly recommend the service of location in morganton. They recognize you by name, and ALWAYS create special order drinks spot on. This was a bad experience for me, and wanted to share this with everyone so someone else could potentially avoid this type of encounter at this location. Again, the baristas name was Keith. They call them themselves baristas and want a tip 🤣 Ordered two hot caramel macchiatos and a breakfast sandwich that was supposed to be a double and a muffin. Coffee was watered down and little to no whip cream. Poured it out. What am I taking out of your personal supply? How much can a shot of whip cream cost? Blue berry muffin tasted like lemon for some reason. 25 bucks for breakfast and coffee the breakfast sandwich was even worse. Ordered a double and came with one piece of bacon all the way one side like you would expect at McDonald's. Over priced and nothing double about it....and they call them themselves baristas and...
