I saw the reviews and I was hoping that PERHAPS we may have a good authentic Chinese food option in Blacksburg… I was disappointed. Now keep in mind I went like 30 minutes before closing so they food might be better if you go at normal times. I got the Canto bbq chicken. While the flavour was good, the chicken was DRY and way too small to be called Canto chicken over rice. And also there’s no chicken skin. The white rice was very dry as well. The bok choy was not very fresh, and corn with Chinese chicken and rice???? I don’t know man… maybe living in China didn’t teach me much but that doesn’t scream “authenticity” to me.

Overall, maybe I’d try this again if it was fresher, but as it stands,...

The food was amazing here, especially the braised beef shank! The noodles were cooked perfectly and I love their want for attention to detail in presentation and service. The staff were very friendly and provided suggestions or recommendations. For a franchise, this place is a fresh breath of air for Blacksburg. I would say the only suggestion I had was portioning. If I was paying extra for a premium meat, I would hope for more than 4 pieces of meat. Additionally, in one of my bowls, I was given a single piece of bok choy. I was visiting a friend from out of town, and she insisted we stop by Junzi for lunch—and I’m so glad she did! There was a slight hiccup when we realized they had adjusted their summer hours to open at noon, but it wasn’t a big deal. The food was absolutely delicious and more than made up for the wait.

As soon as the doors opened, the place filled up quickly—a clear sign of how popular it is. The menu offered plenty of great options, and everything was very reasonably priced. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and craving something fresh...
