Moge Tee Blacksburg — Restaurant in Blacksburg

Went here today and was not exactly a fan. I love most of the boba tea places around. Kung Fu Tea, Kuma Moon, Next Door Bake Shop and the tea at Sushi Factory. I usually order taro.

Today me and my partner both ordered taro. However, when we got it.. neither of us were impressed. I ordered 50% ice.. but there was no ice at all (that wasn’t a huge issue), the taste was off.. I usually get taro and it’s overly sweet, so I ordered mine 70% sweet. It wasn’t sweet at all. The cup was also cuter than it was convenient. The cup was filled too high, so when I put a straw in, the drink overflowed and was trapped between the cup and the lid.. which just caused the cup to drip tea everywhere. I went back inside because I couldn’t get the lid off.. when I asked if the lid came off the lady asked me why. I explained that I thought that there was powder in it that wasn’t mixed. She stated that what I thought was powder was actually just real taro. - I guess I’ve never had a real taro tea before. I’m used to it being purple and sweet. Not brown colored.

I was disappointed and my cup was leaking all over the counter. I left without raising a fuss, it wasn’t her fault that I didn’t like my drink. But, I think the whole experience left me upset. I spent a lot on something I thought I’d enjoy. It was a mess and I ended up with tea all over my shirt.

The lady working wasn’t the friendliest. I’m all for wearing headphones, but maybe not when you’re assisting customers/have several people in store.

Maybe I’ll give it another shot sometime and I’ll try something new.. but I’ll definitely have to get the taro milk tea somewhere else 😅.

Tried the four seasons milk tea and was not a fan at all. Went back in and explained, and staff was very accommodating. I asked for the strawberry swirl milk tea instead, and it tasted much better.
