Hi all. I googled “Best Rubin Boston” and got several returns. One return was Bean Town Pastrami on Hanover street. I was in Revere but didn’t mind a 20 minute ride to get a proper Rubin and the word pastrami in in the title so I was excited to try it. Anyways, it took 40 minutes ?of course) but I found a parking spot right out front and thought the stars were aligning for a good Rubin. Didn’t happen. I ordered #3 . It’s the Rubin. I stated I drove 40 minutes and was looking forward to eating a real Rubin. I thanked the employee for being a place to get good pastrami, and moreover a good Rubin. I paid the $17 and change and drove home. The Sandwitch was a nightmare. Two pieces of marble rye (decent bread) that was burnt from the press. I wouldn’t mind a small burn on tbe bread if be filling was on point, but it wasn’t .. I’m not sure if it was pastrami because it was all dark brown/black. There was 3 heaping tablespoons of spicy mustard and maybe 2 ounces of “meat” . That’s it. It was horrifying. Tasted terrible. Inedible. I haven’t spoken to the owner yet. I just want them to supply good food. I don’t want any trouble…

Edit: I went back a week later and explained my experience and was immediately given a fantastic Rubin with a beautifully cooked and seasoned pastrami and we chalked it up to combination of unfortunate circumstances that was corrected and it...

I ate at beantown in the Boston Logan airport today, July 23 2025, and it was absolutely the worst service I have experienced in my entire life. I ordered the turkey club, and was told to tap my card to pay. My tap did not work, so I inserted the card and the worker said “are you unable to follow directions? It says tap, that is the only way to pay”. I was taken aback by her demeanor, but thanked her. She then said, “we don’t have turkey, chicken, or ham” after I had just paid for my turkey sandwhich. She had charged me a ridiculous $22 for a pastrami Rueben, a sandwhich that I did not even want. I was infuriated, but did not want to make any sort of scene as I was in an airport and in a hurry for my flight. My food was then slammed onto the counter, the box covered in sauce and food scraps, which sprayed all over my brand new white pants. When I opened the box, this is the sandwhich that I was met with - a soggy, cold pastrami sandwhich. Again, this is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a food industry worker, and created this account simply to write this review. If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. I am unsure if this individual is employed by the company directly, or the airport, so I would love a response from the owner/manager clarifying who is responsible for her hiring.

Edited to correct pricing, was actually...

I’ve had a Reuben and it was good. I was excited to try the Thanksgiving but unfortunately it was a bit underwhelming. I think it needs more cranberry as the only way I knew it was there was visually. I’m not a chef but pretty sure an easy way to improve the sandwich would be to increase the stuffing content by 20-30% and double (maybe even triple) the cranberry. I won’t criticize portions because they’re probably paying insane rent for that location and of course inflation is hurting everyone however I would comment I’d have no issue paying +$1 to get the extra stuffing and cranberry. It should also make the sandwich more appetizing, filling, and balanced. Right now the turkey dominates, also a bit salty but if there’s some sweetness to the cranberry it would balance it out nicely. Sorry for the poor pic but I got hungry before I could think to take a shot : ) oh also the staff were nice, 5 stars for them

Edit - I tried the cranberry by itself (as close as I could get), I think they’re going for a tart taste and not sweet so maybe my comment...

Very good sandwich…. Very moist and delicious pastrami on marble rye…. The bread was soft and fresh…..deli mustard was top notch….slices were kinda chunky so falling out all over the place….. was expecting fresh deli slices, so things go messy real fast…. Would actually prefer multiple thin slices…. Solid ‘4 Star’ sandwich….. kinda pricy, but given the tourist location, very expected…. PS: please provide paper plates for future patrons sitting down….. if I’m paying $20 for a hot pastrami, a paper plate would be nice…… aluminum foil wrapper is kinda laughable. Sorry guys
