This place is amazing! I was in town visiting friends from school & was craving a good margarita. I hadn't been here since I was in my teens, so I had to try it out! Uh mazing and oh so satisfying is all I can say! Then I tried a Michelada with Dos X...it was pretty good too, but I had to go back to my margarita because I'm more of that type of drinker.
I ordered the fried pickles to start, cause who knew a Mexican restaurant served those! I was not disappointed at all! They were pretty tasty! I ordered the Carne Asada which comes with a skirt steak, one beef enchilada, refried beans & pico de gallo. I ordered this because I don't eat rice & was intrigued that this plate didn't come with it. This also did not let me down, although next time, I will be getting just enchiladas because I wanted more than just one.
The staff was so kind and attentive! They treated everyone that walked through that door like family! My friends & I enjoyed every moment we were there. We laughed and talked and had an absolute wonderful time, that we did not even realize we were the last ones there.
The only downside of this place, are the hours. Besides that, I definitely...
Read moreI'd like to give this restaurant a good rating but I just can't. The salsa that came with the chips was hardly salsa. There wasn't any flavor and it really resembled something that had been skimmed off some soup. The tamale that came with the plate looked like it had come out of a can. It most definitely was not fresh or homemade. The beans didn't have any seasoning and I couldn't add salsa because it wasn't any good either. The best thing in the plate was the rice and it wasn't fantastic. I've made better rice in my kitchen. The cheese enchilada had more like cheese sauce inside than actual cheese. It was an overpowering flavor of cheese instead of an enchilada. The day that I visited there were copious amounts of flies in the restaurant. I spent more of my time whisking away flies and not eating. The inside of the restaurant looked drab and dated. I'd like to give them another chance but I don't think I will for...
Read moreI was passing through the town and just happened to drive by this establishment. I noticed the parking lot was full. As if that wasn't a good indicator, there were cars parking along the side of the parallel road to come eat here. Which to me meant the food must be great. My intuition was correct! Despite a very busy lunch hour, I got seated right away, drink and tostadas came out quickly. The aromas from the kitchen flowed the air making everything look good on the menu. I chose the carnitas plate and it arrived quicker than I anticipated which was good because I had already eaten half of the chip basket 😬 Now, I'm from South Texas, meaning I'm very spoiled when it comes to great Mexican food. The carnitas were the best I've ever had. Great flavor, super tender, and a chingon sized serving. The restaurant is tucked in the city but quite the gem! Very...
