Burger King — Restaurant in Brookings

The first time I tried going there they had no signs up indicating they were closing early or having technical issues, nobody took my order in the drive thru and it was around 9:30pm. I drove thru the drive thru and saw people inside. I was upset because their Facebook page said they are supposed to close at 12:00pm. The second time I tried going through was a few nights later at 9:50pm. Once again, nobody acknowledged my presence at the order point. I saw customers inside and parked in the lot and went to get out of my car. Just as I was going to go in, a manager locked the doors 5 minutes til 10:00pm with customers and workers inside. It seems like they randomly close whenever they want without any explanation or announcements. This was extremely frustrating for me because it was the second time it happened. Finally lucked out when my boyfriend stopped by a few nights ago and ordered me a 4 piece tender, onion rings, and a lemonade. Or so we thought. He got home and I tried my “lemonade” but they gave me water. We checked the receipt and sure enough we were charged for lemonade. I bit into the tenders and the first one was so dry I couldn’t finish it. When I broke it open the inside of the chicken was completely stale, indicating they were extremely old. The onion rings were really good. I left a review on their Facebook page asking what was up with their hours and why I was asking and they deleted not only my post but several other negative reviews. We went through the drive through to get a number 1, a kids meal, and mozzarella sticks. Once we left the drive through we noticed did not get our mozzarella sticks so I drove around to the front and went in the lobby. When we pulled up two employees were standing right outside the door smoking. When I got inside I stood at the counter for 20 minutes (I would have left if I was not there for something I already payed for) and was ignored by the same person who served us in the drive through line. The cook from the back came out to ask if I had been helped but it was his second day and he did not know how to help me. He spoke to the employee behind the counter who had a headset on and ear bud in so could not hear him until he physical got his attention by touching him. He told him to leave him alone. The cook went out front to get someone to help me but they told him they were on break and that it was all on him. (My family was in the car and could hear the whole conversation) 5 minutes after he came back inside so did they. The lady stopped at the front and asked me if I was the order on the screen and I told her no. She then said well what do you want. I explained that I did not get all my food from the drive through and she said well do you want it now. I of course said yes. She went to the fryer and saw that the mozzarella sticks has not been cooked yet. She dropped them in the oil for a count of 5 seconds and the brought them back up scooped them out and handed them to me. I was so mad I just left with cold mozzarella sticks....

Ive been to this Burger King twice, both times were awful. My first time, I arrived after 10pm and ended up waiting in the drive through for around 25 minutes. When I got home I found out that I was given the wrong order. But they even managed to screw up the wrong order. From the meal ticket that was taped to the bag I could tell they forgot to add the drink to my wrong order. When I drove by to try and return the food, there was no way to do so. The doors were locked and the only way to return the food or ask for a return was to wait in the drive through for another 25 minutes. So I did the reasonable thing and went to the Mcdonalds next door.

Today I decided to give them another try. After waiting around 10 minutes just to get to the speaker (only four cars in line), I tried to place an order for a milkshake. Turns out they decided that after 11:00pm they don't do milkshakes anymore. No where is this posted to let customers know. After waiting another 10 minutes I get my order. The chicken junior looked old, the tomato had soaked into the chicken patty and they had overdone the mayo. The whopper I got was supposed to not have tomatoes, onions or pickles. Someone decided that it was easier not to throw lettuce on as well.

Overall I have been disappointed every time I have tried this location. I won't be back. What a...
