Sizzler — Restaurant in Buena Park

Both the shrimp and baked potato were outstanding! The oil in the fryer probably needs to be changed because the shrimp were a tad bit greasy. But a solid 9 on the food! Upon entering the establishment, there was a handwritten sigh that said they only had coffee and hot and cold tea, so I had water! Then lo and behold, after I came back from washing my hands, I see people drinking sodas! So I tell my server about the sign and he says that was from earlier --- it was only 2pm when I came in. He then goes and takes down the sign; but doesn't bother asking if I would like a soda! Then as I am finishing up my meal, I see my server bringing new diners, the complimentary garlic/toast bread! When I ask him why I didn't get any. His response was, "I didn't bring you any!?" And here I was thinking Sizzler made Covid cutbacks and eliminated the delightful accompaniment. So I told him that's OK, he must be new. He then tells me he has been there 23 years! And since he had no name tag, I don't know who he is! But I could tell he was more involved with the two ladies at the table right in front of me during my meal, babbling all the time in Spanish! Did I tip him? Of course I did! Because nowadays, if you don't people are crying --- oh, how can waitstaff make a living! But I probably shouldn't...

Got here when they just opened for lunch on a Friday. Ordered the unlimited salad bar. It is $13.99 Mondays to Fridays and $15.99 weekends. Did not get offered cheese toast. Service was mostly good. Restaurant is clean and in order.

They are out of wings for the time being so they temporarily replaced it with unlimited mini hot dogs and unlimited chicken nuggets. Would be nice if they had unlimited chicken tender bites instead. That'd be a nice temporary replacement.

The salad bar was yum. They had build your own salad and a few pre-made salads like macaroni salad, tuna pasta salad(sooo yummmmm), spinach salad, potato salad then the hot bar had chicken nuggets, mini corn dogs, tortilla chips, 3 different proteins; steak fajitas, carnitas, and ground beef, spaghetti with meatballs, mac and cheese, and hot tortillas. Salsa and guac are in the salad bar section. All in all, great lunch and it was quick! A few parties came after me and left. I stayed for a while and enjoyed every dish there was. Yum yum in tum tum! I hadn't been to a Sizzler in at least 10 years, as I do not live near one. When you walk in, you order at the counter, then you seat yourself. Keep your receipts out as you will need to hand it to the server that comes to your table. I ordered the steak tips which comes with rice and 1 side, I ordered the veggies. My family had a steak combo and Malibu chicken and steak combo. The server came to our table with our drinks and a basket of cheese toast, which were yummy. About 5 mins later we received our salad and soups. 10 mins later we received our food. The wine demiglaze that comes on the tips were good, but the meat itself was too fatty to enjoy. The veggies were fresh and I enjoyed them. The steaks were oddly very plain and my family did not enjoy, they seem to be void of any type of seasoning. I was debating on getting the salad bar, which I wish I would have gotten. The salad bar consisted of fresh green salads and pasta salads, fruit salads, fresh fruits, etc. There was also spaghetti, taco fixings, onion rings, soups, and fried chicken.
