K SOUL FOOD — Restaurant in Buena Park

Wow....just wow. First, let me start off by saying I'm a person with very high patience. I'm actually a server in the restaurant industry myself.

When we got there, we were told to put our name down on the waiting list, even though there were open tables and no one waiting. Totally understandable. But then we noticed people coming after us were getting sat immediately, so I went up to check and ask and he said tried to blame how we wrote a "3" next to our name for our party of 3. Trying to be understandable, I brush it off and was willing to wait for the next open table. FYI, we already waited 30+ minutes already for no reason. Strike 1. When we finally get sat, it took a while for a server to come help us, and when trying to ask for assistance, I was hit with a simple wave of a hand. He helps 2 other tables and completely disregards us. Strike 2. When we finally get a server, they said they were out of the seafood combo for grilling, and only had 1 piece of eel left. Strike 3. At this point, we just left hungry, and mad that we wasted our time.

If you ever want to try this place, I hope you don't have to deal with this type of incompetence and...

The restaurant is located in The Source on the 3rd floor. We walked into the restaurant and they seated us right away outside at a larger table for our family of five. We sat inside the pojangmacha area outside. The weather was nice and cool but it was a little warm under the red tent. We went to dinner around 8:30 but it was still very busy and stayed busy through our meal. Looked like a popular place. We were provided water and silverware right away. We ordered and then they brought out the ban chan. Very simple yet tasty: kimchi, fish cake, cabbage salad, and spicy pickled radish.

Unfortunately they were out of the live uni for the night- will have to try again. We ordered two of the combo sushi plates, mandu (dumplings), two bowls of the bibim naegmyeon, and the special roll 1 (spam, bulgogi, and shrimp). I had the bibim naegmyeon and it was very good but spicy. I also had a dumpling which was tasty. Husband and son shared the combo sushi’s and the special rolls. Everything was good. There was a generous size of fish for the sushi and everything looked very fresh. Definitely will have to go back to try other menu items....

K Soul Food Korean restaurant offers a decent spot for a quick lunch or dinner with friends. The ambiance is particularly delightful when you opt for outdoor seating beneath the vibrant red canopy. Sitting outside, sipping on Korean soju or beer, gives you a taste of enjoying street foods in Korea. They specialize in seafood and Korean fusion, like the intriguing Carbonara Topokki. While the food is alright, it leans towards the pricey side. Personally, I wouldn't go out of my way for the Korean fusion dishes; instead, sticking to the traditional Korean foods and the signature seafood items on the menu is a safer bet. -1 star for just okish foods there.
