I've been here three times since they've opened this summer, each with varying experiences. The first was a gamble; their social media had no information about an opening date or indication that they were open, and the website wasn't fully developed or had a food menu. We were the only table seated, but luckily they were open and I had a nice breakfast. The pancakes were delicious. Second time I brought my husband for dinner, again the place was dead, service was slow, but the food was good. Reserved signs on more than half the tables. This third time was a disappointment. We went again for dinner, and again the place was dead. The waiter removed a 'reserved' sign from the table he sat us at. It's a great atmosphere, but by this time the lack of patrons is really killing the vibe. Surprising for a new restaurant. My food came out a good 10 minutes before my husband's. Having manners, I waited until his came out and of course my meal was cold. Disappointing that the kitchen couldn't handle this with three tables seated. We ate dinner and it was fine...$80 for a grilled cheese, burger, and one cocktail, yikes. I was hoping to bring a group of 9 very big VIP's from work for lunch the following week. One of them kept calling to make a reservation, but she couldn't get ahold of anyone. I asked our waiter about making reservations. He said 'No, we don't take reservations, its first come first serve...actually our owner told us to never answer the phone. If you wanted to come with 9 people, you could try and maybe we would put you on the couches.' Well, that made a lot of sense and was a huge disappointment. Why all the reserved signs? A new restaurant not answering the phone? Given the serving experience and unreliability for reservations, I wouldn't gamble this type of lunch here. I need to take that business somewhere else, and honestly it'll be a long while before I go here myself again....if they are still open in...
Read moreI don’t think I’ve ever written a review for a bar or restaurant, but after today I felt compelled to. My time spent working in service and hospitality is something I don’t highlight or showboat, but it’s something I always take note of wherever I am. My mother has wanted to come to Streetlight for a while, and we decided to stop in for a quick bite and drink while we were in the area. The space itself is beautiful and the menu looked incredible, however we did not have the pleasure of getting to enjoy any of it. We were not greeted upon walking in, nor were we even acknowledged when taking a seat at the bar. There was another couple sitting next to us, along with one other table, but other than that the entire restaurant was empty. We took our time looking over the menu through the QR codes provided on the bar top, and after making our decisions on both food and drink we sat patiently to be waited on. All we received, however, was half glances from the bartenders and wait staff and the lack of any acknowledgment. After ten minutes of sitting there waiting for someone to simply say hello to us, we decided it wasn’t worth our time and moved on to the next bar, met with the dumbfounded stare of the bartender as we walked away, unsure of what was wrong. At the next bar were informed after receiving fantastic service and conversation with our bartender that this is nothing unusual for Streetlight and something he has heard from many people. If I was in charge of the space I would be ashamed of allowing my staff to operate in such an ignorant and lax fashion where they have no regard to their guests and the money they are losing, and everyone I know will be made aware of the atrocity that is the service of...
Read moreWhen you walk into this place and look around you might say, "wow its beautiful in here, the decor is gorgeous and the furniture is contemporary and fun," unfortunately, however, the rudeness and racism negated the beauty of the restaurant. My partner and I walked into this place yesterday evening looking to have some drinks and food. The restaurant was not busy and there were plenty of clean, empty tables. As we waited by the "please wait to be seated sign," we noticed multiple people "working" yet nobody greeted us. Finally I went over to the bartender to ask if we could be seated only for the bartender to say, "we are waiting to clean off a table." As we continued to wait for at least 10 minutes, someone casually walked out from the back to clean a table in the furthest part of the restaurant. Even more, when they were seemingly done "cleaning" still no one attended to us. After inquiring about a table again with the rude bartender, we were finally seated in the far back of the restaurant and nobody ever came to get a drink order. Finally, after 10 minutes of waiting and no service we left to a better restaurant---Sidelines. Although the decor in Sidelines is not as well done as Streetlight--the service and delicious food made up for it. DONT GO TO...
