First and foremost, I am a fan of the owner's flagship restaurant "Flavor Rich" which is located in Suwanee. It never disappoints. Huge YUM factor!
Having said that I was deeply disappointed in my visits to a Touch of Flavor located in Buford. The location itself is quite pleasant.The interior is clean and well appointed. Though it is a take out restaurant, there is some seating.
On my first visit I ordered fried shrimp, collard greens, macaroni and cheese and red velvet cake. The server was very kind and prompt. The food preparation was beautiful, it looked delicious in the container! However, the food itself fell flat. The shrimp was not at all like the shrimp at Flavor Rich, which is absolutely delicious. This shrimp was over cooked and tasted just odd. The collards were extremely salty, so much so, I could not eat them. Though the mac and cheese looked amazing it did not offer much depth of flavor in that it tasted as though only one variety of cheese was used. It was also dry. And the red velvet cake was an absolute no...dry, flavorless, disappointing. Hard pass.
Because I so wanted to love this place, I revisited a few weeks later. This time I ordered two meals; -Fried shrimp, mac and cheese and crispy brussel sprouts -Grilled salmon, red beans and rice, yams
I wanted to give additional side items a try. Once again, disappointing. Overall the food waa salty and the mac and cheese seemed leftover. Though the brussel sprouts seemed a tad overcooked, they, along with the candied yams were much better offerings as compared the other items. And total honesty, I am not a brussels sprout fan, but they paired well with the candied yams.
Visit this spot and make your own judgement, you may love it. But sadly, I will not be going back đĽ˛. If only Flavor Rich; the flagship restaurant in Suwanee; had more extended hours đ. At any rate, I wish the owner "Chef Flavor Rich" much success. And btw...the staff at Touch of Flavor is great. She deserves 10 âď¸! Very kind, prompt and professional.

   Read moreGave the place two chances. Once when they first opened and today. Guy was very friendly however the food was overpriced for the quality. Had beef the first time and it was dry and over cooked, greens were extremely salty. Today, ordered fried chicken, Mac and cheese and greens. Again, the greens were entirely too salty and the chicken was whatever they picked, I ended up with a leg (eww) and oversized Breast-I prefer wings but was never asked. Chicken tasted old, re-battered and re-fried or it was quickly thawed out. For a 2 wing/2 side meal, $20 bucks was too much to only enjoy the mac and cheese. Staff girl was pretty rude. Told me my food would take 10 mins, went back in around 13 mins, order still not completed sat on the patio a few more mins until another lady who walked in after me left with her order, my order was literally just sitting on the counter. She goes-your order is there. I asked how long it has been sitting here, mind you, I was right outside on their patio- why wouldn't she come and tell me order was ready? She said about 5 mins. Iâm so excited to share how blown away we were by Touch of Flavor, the newest culinary concept from the genius behind my longtime favorite, Flavor Rich. This new venture did not disappoint â it exceeded every expectation!
My husband had the gumbo, and let me tell you â it was rich, savory, and packed with perfectly cooked shrimp, crab, and Creole love in every bite. That mound of seasoned rice in the center soaked up all the goodness. He couldnât stop raving about it!
I ordered the grilled chicken with Brussels sprouts and rice & gravy. Whew! That chicken was juicy and flavorful, the sprouts had the perfect caramelized char, and the gravy over the rice? Soul-hugging comfort on a plate.
From presentation to taste, everything was chefâs kiss! You can feel the passion and love in every bite, and itâs clear this concept was made to bless our taste buds.
