Read moreWent here for the first time time today (9/7) at around 530pm. And the food was good. However I did not receive what I ordered and the waitress actually blamed me for it which felt a bit inappropriate. I told her my order, she seemed to have written it down, but then she rung it up incorrectly so the cook made the wrong thing. I did not realize this until I received my check. When I brought it to her attention she tried to blame the cook for getting it wrong at which point I showed her the ticket and she said, "Oh I see it was my fault then. But you should have told me earlier. I can't do anything now. You should have told me earlier, as soon as you got the food". It was my first time there. I don't know what any of the wing flavors taste or look like to be able to tell the difference between the spicy thai chilli I ordered and the spicy flavor she gave me in its place. It's not like I ordered wings and got hot dog instead on which case I would've immediately known. I also hadnt eaten 8 of the wings at the time I realized. I don't understand why I couldn't receive the 6 I actually ordered and give back the 6 I hadn't eaten (I ordered 12 wings of 2 different flavors, 6 and 6). She didn't try to compromise at all. Only told me I should've asked sooner. When it was time to actually pay she did start apologizing but I wonder if that was because it was tipping time. As someone who has worked in food, I get mistakes happen and wouldve just let it go but having the initial reaction of blaming the customer for a situation that was due to your own fault is a bit inappropriate and off putting. It wasn't the mistake that bothered me at all, it's how she handled it. There were other minor issues during the visit like waiting quite some time to be waited on in an almost empty restaurant (she walked past us repeatedly) and having to repeatedly ask for things, but that one stuck out the most. All in all though I enjoyed my visit and will be recommending the place to my friends! Even though I received the wrong flavor wings, I ate them later and they were still delicious! I plan to return so that i can get to try the ones I actually...
Read moreI had the chance to visit Might As Well earlier this month with family. I'm new to the Chapel Hill area, so I was excited to get to taste what the area offers. I love myself a good beer and wings place, so I was hopeful that Might As Well might become my new hangout.
The good: Not overly packed on a Saturday afternoon, which was fantastic. Our waitress was new but polite, and we received our drinks quickly. Might As Well is also in a great location - not too far from campus and right near Target for when you need some post-bar snacks. The food was also fantastic - it came out hot, the fries were just crispy enough, and the steak I ended up ordering was just as rare as I'd asked for it.
The neutral: I'm not going to lie, our waitress was a little inattentive. We only saw her thrice - once to take our drink orders, once to deliver our drinks, and once to drop off our check. We did not receive refills throughout our meal, and a different waiter was responsible for dropping off our plates. This wasn't a dealbreaker at all, but it was a little different than the service I'm used to at restaurants.
The bad: The food was dropped off at different times with no real explanation. As mentioned, a different waiter dropped off my plate - and then left. It took somewhere around 10 minutes for my friend's plate to be brought to the table. A glance around the restaurant showed that this appeared to be the norm - those at our neighboring table also received their plates one by one. Is this the norm? I do have to say that this was my first time sitting down to EAT at a bar, so this just may be a case of me not understanding the rules. Either way, I know I felt awkward about digging into my food while my friend waited for his to come out (the same meal, by the way).
Overall: Would I come back? Probably. As mentioned, they do serve delicious fries and I wouldn't turn any place down for a...
