I stop here almost religiously on Wednesdays for a meal before work, as well as occasionally an uber eats order on Saturdays when I work a little further away. Chaz has been the absolute man throughout it all. Every time I come in, he drops everything, has the biggest smile on his face, puts love into the sandwich that I take to go eat before work, to the point that you can taste it; and tells me to go make all the money in the world, knowing that I’ve been fed for the day. The one time he wasn’t there on Wednesday, I walked in and the guy covering his shift said “Chaz told me that you in at 4 every Wednesday for a sandwich and to take care of you” and I knew the love was still there. I have met very few people that have found their passion and want to share it with others, but Chaz and his crew have found their passion and will passionately make you the best sandwich in Charleston, or even the entire world. The passion that is put into here is prevalent, and even my least favorite sandwich from here is a sandwich that I would gladly eat for eternity. Every special that I have had from this place, has knocked my socks off, and every menu item that I’ve had, has captivated me to keep trying more. Even if sandwiches weren’t my thing, supporting rad people who like to make people happy and push them to do rad things too would keep me coming in week after week...

Legend Deli is a hidden gem in downtown Charleston. It is absolutely worth the stop if you’re into bold, creative sandwiches and top-tier bagels. I had the Reuben bagel, and honestly, it was the best Reuben I’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced, crispy, melty, and packed with flavor the kind of sandwich you think about after it’s gone.

The place itself is unique and it has that cool, laid-back local vibe, but you can tell they take their food seriously. The staff were friendly, fast, and clearly know a lot of their regulars by name, which says a lot about how loved this spot is.

If you’re anywhere near King Street or the Historic District, don’t miss this place. Legend Deli lives up...

I came here yesterday on a whim, and got the sandwich where the chef decides, “rain the funk” and it was so good that I had to call them after my first bite and brag on them. I saved a part of it just to bring my boyfriend a bite so he would take us today, and we made a whole date around it. It was just as delicious today, one of us got a burrito and the other was a sandwich. The guy up front with the tattoos is so kind and everyone seems very friendly, such a cute and unique place that I want to gatekeep it… but this is going to become me and my boyfriend’s “thing” now. Kudos to that chef and all staff for being so helpful and KILLING ITT!!!

Small deli off King Street in downtown Charleston. Great sandwich combinations…legendary some might say ;-). Although several peaked my interest I couldn’t resist trying the GOAT, a cold sandwhich with peppermill turkey, whipped goat cheese, onion jam, roasted red pepper mayo, arugula on sourdough bread. It did not disappoint. Great variety of flavors in each bite. Served grilled, bread was extra crunchy but a little too greasy buttery for me…but dont get me wrong, I ate every last bit and licked every finger when done. Staff was very friendly. Indoor seating available at tables and counter seating at windows. Will definitely be back!

I was starving at work and didn't know if I needed breakfast or lunch so I got both! First, the OG Breakfast Sammie on everything bagel with Ham and herbed cream cheese. A little torched around the edges but so satisfying. Delicious toothy bagel, fluffy egg, heavenly ham, this was enough. Took the Jabroni home. Tried to share the Jabroni with hubby but he said something was weird. I'm sure it was the whipped Ricotta, which I loved. This is a solid sandwich joint and I will let hubby choose his own sandwich next time. Because there will be a next time.
