We went to Angeline’s in Charlotte to celebrate my daughter’s 13th birthday. Our first choice was Freshwaters, but they closed at 9 p.m., & Angeline’s was one of the few places open late. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype.

The service was poor. Our server only visited the table four times (1. take drink order; 2. food orders; 3. bring the meals; 4. drop off the check) He barely acknowledged us, even though we saw him regularly checking on other tables and refilling drinks. His attitude felt dismissive, especially when I asked about the Bolognese. It seemed like he just didn’t want to serve us, & we were treated differently than others in the restaurant.

The food was not worth the cost. I spent around $134 for 2 entrees, 2 Caesar salads with grilled chicken, 1 side, & 3 drinks. My salmon was served by itself with no sides, placed on a streak of tomato-based sauce with a few unidentifiable greens & what I think was dried lime. The salmon still had that tough, rubbery black skin on the bottom, which made it unpleasant to eat. The Caesar salads were just as disappointing because the grilled chicken was dry & hard to cut.

Even the drinks were overpriced, for the quality, it simply wasn’t worth it.

I can easily spend over $100 at Freshwaters spot & feel satisfied. This just felt like a waste of money. I truly hate that my favorite restaurant was closed & we ended up at Angeline’s instead. The whole experience felt unwelcoming & rushed. I would not return or recommend this place, especially for a special occasion.

This wasn’t about the cost, but the quality of the experience. The food & service seemed tailored to a particular demographic, leaving us feeling overlooked. Regardless of background, every guest deserves the same level of respect &...

Last night, my experience at Angelina’s in Charlotte was elevated from great to unforgettable, thanks to our waiter, Alex. From the moment we stepped in, Alex greeted us with a warm, welcoming smile that set the tone for the evening. His knowledge of the menu was impressive; he provided personalized recommendations that were spot on, turning our meal into a culinary adventure.

It was our friend Deliana’s Birthday and he made sure to help us celebrate it with style.

What truly set Alex apart was his attentiveness and genuine care. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, refilling glasses at just the right moment and checking in to ensure our satisfaction with each course. Despite the bustling atmosphere, we felt like we were Alex’s only table, a testament to his professionalism and skill.

Alex’s passion for hospitality shone through in every interaction. He shared fascinating insights about the restaurant's history and even the origins of some dishes, which added a special touch to our dining experience. His enthusiasm was infectious, making our dinner not just a meal but a delightful experience.

To top it off, Alex’s timing was impeccable. He was there when we needed him, yet allowed us enough space to enjoy our meal and conversation. His service was a seamless blend of efficiency, warmth, and expertise.

In a city filled with dining options, Angelina’s stands out, and Alex is a shining star in their team. His exceptional service has not only ensured that we will return, but also that we will recommend Angelina’s to friends and family. If you're in Charlotte, do yourself a favor and dine at Angelina’s. Ask for Alex; you won’t be...

What a wonderful dinner at Angeline’s! This place has been on my list of Italian restaurants to try in Charlotte for a while and it was definitely worth the wait!

The atmosphere was elegant and comfortable. We were seated by the windows which provided ample light for food pictures IYKYK.

We ordered 2 appetizers, 1 pizza, 1 pasta, and some drinks. The pacing from the kitchen was perfect and allowed us to enjoy each appetizer separately rather than bombard the table with everything at once.

The mussels were perfectly cooked, tender, in a multi layered broth with saffron, tomato, and fennel. We soaked up a lot of the broth with the bread which was soft with a great crusty exterior. If you’re a mussel fan, definitely order these!

The calamari was lightly coated and perfectly crispy! My favorite style is served with the baby calamari with tentacles which Angeline’s nailed. It was perfectly seasoned and I enjoyed the peppers mixed in as well.

My husband had the Bianca pizza that had perfect mounds of ricotta on each slice. He seemed to enjoy it as there wasn’t a slice left.

I enjoyed the pasta all’amatriciana which had a slightly spicy tomato sauce, shrimp, and pancetta. It was delicious and super filling!

Everything was delicious but our waiter Alex really made the experience come together. The service from Alex was warm and friendly! Even had an impromptu concert with Alex and the Manager discussing Alicia Keys songs.

Great service and a great night out! Can’t wait to come back and try the...

After visiting the Charlotte Christmas Village at the ballpark, we stopped here to get takeout. Covid-19: you can order and pay online. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience doing this. I selected a pickup time of 5:30. When we got there, they told us they hadn't started making our food because the pickup time was 6pm. They didn't care that I clearly had an email that said 5:30. I wouldn't have minded having to wait 20 minutes for my food if they had been apologetic, but blaming me for their own mistake really rubbed me the wrong way. They did end up giving us a a complimentary tiramisu, which made it a little better (although I don't like tiramisu...). Onto the better part of our experience: the food. We had a virtual event we had to get back to at home (that we were late to thanks to the delay..), so we had to drive 20 minutes before eating the food. We usually try to eat it somewhere outside near the restaurant right away so it's fresh. This food traveled really well though! We got the Whipped Ricotta, Bucatini, and Diavola Pizza. It was all fantastic. The Whipped Ricotta was a little sweet and so delicious. The pizza was slightly spicy. The Bucatini was rich and creamy. I loved it all. I really loved the food. I took off a star because I didn't like how they blamed me for the food not being ready. Hopefully next time they'll do better with customer service.
