On our last full day in Charlotte for work is when we discovered King of fire. I am ultra picky when it comes to pizza and almost never enjoy "artisan" pies .... King of fire is now the exception to the rule. We started off with a Honey pie (My boss, colleague and I were interested in trying this and it did not disappoint) and a New Yorker (I personally loved this pie the most) .. after we demolished these 2 pies we then ordered their meat pie the Excalibur... another amazing example. At this point we had engaged the staff in conversation and let them know we were in town for work and were intrigued with their offerings. The employees treated us to a Honey pie 2.0 on them and again it did not disappoint. After all was said and done we wondered how the honey would be on an Excalibur..... it works just as well. Thank you for capping off a great business trip with phenomenal pizza offerings. We made sure to walk back to the hotel so we could try and feel less guilty about taking down 5 10" pizzas among 3 of us 😅... I had no shame and would gladly return of and when I am back in the Charlotte area... Thank you again to the staff 🙏

The King of Fire exceeded my expectations! Located right in Uptown Charlotte, the spot is in a perfect location. The ambiance is casual and welcoming—great for both groups and solo diners, with a few outdoor seating options as well. The staff were friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. I wasn’t too hungry, so I ordered the meat lover style pizza along with a side salad. Heads up, the side salad is huge and definitely sharable! The pizza itself was excellent—lots of flavor from the meats and a perfectly baked soft crust. Overall, this place was a hit during my visit to Charlotte. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and craving quality pizza!

King of Fire is in such a cute location, with plenty of room. There is indoor/outdoor seating, and you are only feet away from the green. It was a little pricey per person, for 2 pizzas and cannolis, but the food was delicious. Cannolis were also good, but the cream was a bit grainy. That said, there was a younger guy who chatted with us before we left who was incredibly kind. It was clear that customers, and the business, are of high importance to him. When in town, we would visit again!

The employees deserve better.

KOF was the only restaurant open across from the convention center during Collect-A-Con. It was a smart decision to stay open, but a poor decision to keep the store running on a skeleton crew.

They had four employees when they clearly needed at least eight. These employees were working like dogs:

One person on the oven

One person finishing every single pizza and calling out customer names

They should have had two people on dough and oven, two finishers or expediters, and at least one person in the dining room.

The biggest problem, besides choosing to run short-staffed, was that ownership or management stopped by in the middle of the chaos and did nothing.

A woman, maybe the owner’s wife, came in, said a few things to the employees, went to the back, grabbed a drink, and left. Then a man who was with her, likely the owner or a supervisor, walked in wearing a full golf outfit. The staff told him they were fine, which was clearly just being polite, and he waved goodbye and walked out the door just as quickly as he could.

They left behind visibly overwhelmed, frustrated, unhappy employees who were struggling to keep up. Many customers waited nearly an hour for a single pizza. Those owners should have rolled up their sleeves, put on a hat and apron, and helped these people serve the hundreds of guests packed into the restaurant.

The pizza is great, but I will never come back. Your employees deserve more.

Also, why call it “King of Fire” when your restaurant uses an electric oven with zero flame. The pizza truck may have a wood-fired oven, but not here.

Not to mention the umpteen health code violations that were going on. People were wearing gloves but they mean nothing if you're wiping your lips, brow, or anything else with them. Fixing hair etc. No one had a had on, no one had a hair net. The two female employees had very long hair, freely...

The food at this place was great! The pizzas are absolutely delicious! For the most part, they go above and beyond for service. I ate here 3 nights in a row since the food choices in uptown are limited and awful! They call your name when your food is ready and you go to the counter and get it normally if you take out. But they bring it to you when you dine in. On my third night my daughter did not want to be quiet so we went into the park and fountain area. The man knew us because we had forgotten a bag there the night before and he rushed out to the same area and brought it to us. Today, he literally walked out to the fountain area and brought us our pizza! There is only one person at the register taking orders and the line can get extremely long, but it is well worth it!!! There are no high chairs, so the atmosphere is not as family friendly for youngsters, but they will LOVE the pizza!!! My daughter aire did and so did we! The food was delicious and much of the food in Charlotte is awful. We have been here over a week and this was only the 3rd decent meal we had! So when you find a good place, make sure to go back! We tried the gerkic knots on the second straight day and they were delicious! They give you plenty of sauce with them too! The only drawback with the pizza is there is only one size - 10 inch. Which for one person sometimes is not enough. So if you are really hungry, you may need to order two or order a side item like the garlic knots or a salad. Come to this place for delicious food! You...

We couldn’t have been more extremely pleased with King of Fire’s food truck catering for my mum’s 70th birthday! Despite stormy weather, their team drove all the way from Charlotte to Winston-Salem—navigating fallen trees and power lines—and set everything up in the rain like a well-oiled machine.

From start to finish, Evan and his team were wonderfully friendly, professional, and dependable. The food was absolutely delicious—from the fresh, crisp salads, the beautifully arranged charcuterie boards, and especially the wood-fired pizzas, every single item was a hit. Guests were raving about the flavor, quality, and presentation!

Using their mobile catering service added such charm and ease to our event—bringing gourmet tastes right to our venue, rain or shine. If you’re looking for a pizza catering service or food truck for a special event, you simply can’t go wrong with King of Fire. We would highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding, birthday, corporate event, or any gathering that deserves standout catering, top-notch customer service, and unforgettable artisan pizza.

Thank you, King of Fire, for making this milestone celebration truly memorable—even when the skies...
