*Update I was contacted by the manager who expressed a great deal of concern regarding my visit. He told me under no circumstances should this happen & he is committed to learning more so he can foster a better experience with his staff. He invited me back & because I was pleased the other times I’d come to this restaurant and don’t wanna miss out on their unique vegan food options, I’ll be back. The vegan food scene is growing heee but not at a rate that aligns with my appetite ha ha so I want to continue to enjoy as many places as i can.
I’d give this place a ZERO if i could. After attending a yelp event this morning in the area i stopped by Mike’s to grab some food. The cashier was nice & helped me with my recommendations. I paid for my food and left. Once in my car i opened my food and it was cold. My hotdog bun…. Hard. I was very disappointed. I walked straight back in & requested a refund. The same cashier was EXTREMELY rude & took this personally. I offered to let her feel the foods temp she refused. I said i just wanted my money back and it was very unacceptable. I’m upset because i could have chosen any food option here but i wanted to patronize THIS business. She said well you should have went to them then. I was shocked. I said excuse me that was very rude. She stated I’m sorry it was rude it slipped out but you started it. Started what?? You never apologized for the food quality, you immediately took offense to me requesting my money back. She then ask me to step aside to take other customers. I thought that was equally as distasteful because why are you dismissing me when you could simply return my money & I’ll be on my way. But i am a very amicable person so i continued to try not to escalate things with her poor attitude. I waited several minutes for her to get back to me and she finally opens the register and hands me my refund and says Don’t come back. Huhhh?! You guys distribute poor quality food, disrespect your customer, then say don’t come back. Wow! I called back & asked to speak to the manager she said no one is there. I hate to give negative reviews so i wanted to give the manager an opportunity to resolve this & provide feedback to the employee. But Okay she wants to keep me from passing on my experience. Well I’ll call back everyday until i speak to them because who do you have representing this business? A young person with no customer service skills… I am...
Read moreI've been coming to Mike's Vegan faithfully since their Grand Opening. It's such a win to have a Vegan restaurant in the University Area there aren't really any in this area. Another plus is it's opened all day every day which isn't normally the case with Vegan restaurants. They have sooo many options which I appreciate and the customer service is extremely friendly. The ambiance is good and fun, nice artwork, nice natural light coming in.
The shrimp quesadilla tastes really good and from what I remember tastes like the real thing. The Philly sub and Beef tacos are ANAZING! The sauces are everything, the white aoili sauce is great but that special sauce is my favorite. You can seriously add it to any entrée. The Hot dog was okay, I was expecting the bacon bits I added to be pieces of vegan bacon but it was like the bacon bits in the salad shake you buy at the grocery store which is okay, just not what I expected. Next time I will order with Chili and cheese. The Chili Cheese fries was good, just not the best I've tasted as far as Vegan goes, but I will still recommend. The Chili sauce is very good and the fries were crispy with the great amount of Chili. The portion size is awesome for the price. I can't eat it all in one sitting. It can actually be ordered as meal because it's filling.
If you're a biscoff fan you are in for a treat with the biscoff shake, cookie, and cheesecake. You wouldn't even know the shake was Vegan and it's nice and thick. It's so popular they often run out of it. The bicoff cookie is soft and you can taste alot of the biscoff. The cheesecake is so rich and good.
You can get a great meal here for an average price of $25 I would say. It's typical vegan pricing which is expected.
The entrance to Mikes is between Chex Grill and Tea Fusion, just walk to the back. There is plenty free parking but the lot can often be full since there are several popular restaurants. The weekend tends to get pretty busy. You can download the Toast app to place your order in advance and they will let you know the wait time. I would highly suggest downloading this app because you can earn $5 off which I've already redeemed. Even if you order in the restaurant, they take your phone number for the order so it still adds your points in the toast app.
I would highly recommend this restaurant and there's still so many entrees I...

Thanks to our son and daughter-in-law, my husband and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the grand opening of Mike's Vegan Grill. I cannot express how impressed and satisfied we were with the overall experience, from the outstanding customer service to the absolutely delicious food.
Now, let me tell you about the food – OMG!!! It was amazing! Trust me; I'm picky about how my food is prepared, and I hardly ever eat out. Y’all, the variety on the menu put me in a daze!! (literally) We all ordered different items for taste testing (Carolina burger, tacos, chili cheese fries, fiesta fries, cheeseburger quesadilla, biscoff cheesecake, and a blueberry milkshake). The flavors were bold, and the presentation was amazing! You know when you see a picture of a food item on the menu and it looks so good, but when you actually get the food, it is a complete mess. Lol. Well, let me tell you, at Mike’s Vegan Grill, the food is prepared beautifully, and the taste is luscious! Everything was made to perfection, and the attention to detail was spot on. Even my husband, who is Nigerian and doesn't usually eat vegan food, just couldn't stop talking about how delicious the burger was.
The standout feature was when my husband chose to go back to Mike’s Vegan Grill three days later instead of having one of his favorite Nigerian meals (FuFu and Egusi). When he said to me, “I have a taste for some more of that Vegan food,” I was like, WHAT???? REALLY??? Now, I've been married to him for 43 years, and I've never known him to even consider choosing another meal over FuFu. Lol.
Try Mike’s Vegan Grill. I promise you will not be disappointed; it is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. The exceptional customer service and the mouthwatering food have turned us into customers for life. To India and the entire staff of Mike's Vegan Grill, thank you for setting the bar high and providing a new meaning to our expectations of what a restaurant is supposed to be. We are forever grateful for the warmth and kindness that...
