So this was another one of those places. The kind of place which was talked up like crazy. We went here one Friday for lunch this past summer, and I can honestly say I was disappointed. I was told how good their burgers are and how 'kewl' the place was, etc... blah blah the usual...
We arrived around 11:20am --I know that's early, but I start to eat my desk if I get past 11:45am. We were seated instantly and our drink order was taken relatively quickly. About 15 minutes later, at about 11:40am, our drinks were brought to the table. As you can imagine, I'm starting to think about chomping on the table at this point! Soon as our waitress passed out the drinks --that she clearly ran out to bottle herself at the local Coca Cola bottling facility, she took our order. Then we waited... And waited. And waited.
Finally, the order was brought to the table at around 12:35pm. I received a side salad, which was simply just a side salad and nothing more --I 'think' it may have had a tomato on it --bonus, and this smallish burger sitting in the middle of a plate the size of a small platter --interesting, I thought. I figured based on this plain, weak presentation, this thing was going to taste like fillet on a bun! I couldn't have been more wrong. It tasted nothing more than 90/10 ground beef cooked on my grill at home one night after work, without seasoning--very disappointing.
To add to the fun, they actually screwed up my coworkers lunch, resulting in him having to wait another 10-15 minutes for the reorder. Aside from the fun activities of the time it took to get the order, the restaurant itself was literally 55°; it was freezing in there. Perhaps that was because I had no food inside me to keep me warm?
For the food you got and its taste, I felt was overpriced --maybe they just have to charge a lot to keep the AC units running with...

04/21/18: My husband planned to take me to a nice place to eat a late lunch yesterday and decided for us to try something new, so we went to Roosters.
This was our experience: We were greeted by kind hostesses who sat us immediately. The restaurant was upscale country, we enjoyed looking at the roosters on the wall while we waited for a meal and the smells were great. The seating layout was also nice especially if you are meeting with someone.
At the table: The napkins were over-washed, the menu was confusing to read with vague descriptions... do not be fooled by the decent pricing—The entree we received did not come with a side and the portions were extremely small.
Here is what we ordered: Appetizer oysters $15 they were fried, served over cocktail sauce 6 on a plate, the taste was nothing special Snapper served over “veggies” $28 Over cooked and dry, wasn’t specified that it was fried on the menu. Veggies: a few leaves of kale, less than a half of radish and a spoon of sour cream
Total = $46.55
Worth it? No. Small portions were the biggest disappointment—we would have left hungry if we hadn’t asked for more bread. The bread wasn’t even warm, maybe it was from the oven but it was cold like it was straight from the bag.

Read moreLoved my experience at Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen in SouthPark in Charlotte, North Carolina. The ambience in space was good. They had very high ceilings with an industrial feel. There were booths and tables. Even though the place was packed, you could still have a conversation. They also dimmed the lights at around 730. Definitely good for a date night. The service was spectacular. Our server Tim and the team were extremely accommodating, swift, friendly and knowledgeable. The place is not cheap. They have a daily menu as well as wines by the glass and bottle. They had a pretty extensive list of wines by the glass. Most of the glasses of wine were between $14 and $20. They also made an amazing dirty martini and they had blue cheese olives which were very, very good. The bread they give you when you sit down was delicious. Had an amazing crust with great texture and taste. It comes with olive oil to dip it in. They have a daily menu which has a ton of options. We started with the burrata! Was a nice size portion with arugula and tomato. Of course I asked for extra bread! The reduction on it was fire! I went with the short rib and the fries. The short rib was absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly with this amazing glaze. He wasn’t kidding when he said the portion of fries was huge. They were very well seasoned and crispy. Just the way I like it. My friend had the scallops. They were small which we expected and were $33. She really liked them but was hungry. Will definitely go back. I may try the Uptown...
