Overall: 7/10 I mean it’s toast and juice in uptown, of course it’s overpriced, but it’s cute, and the people are friendly and service is relatively quick.
Decor/Vibes: 10/10 super cute spot, trendy location. Plenty of natural light, upbeat music, open concept.
Customer service: 10/10 super nice people, friendly, helps you navigate the menu.
Food: 5/10 Flavor wise it’s good. Flavorful, fresh, not revolutionary, but it’s tasty. I’m full without feeling stuffed or bloated. Playing. And presentation is also very gorgeous. Here’s my main issue. The toast looks beautiful but is almost impossible to actually eat. Items are cut way too large. The bread is a good thickness but not toasty enough to handle the toppings without turning to mush. If I’m paying $15 for toast I want a crispy bread and all of my toppings in every bite. We tried 2 different toasts and they were tasty but ridiculously messy even with a fork and knife.
Since this is in uptown I’m assuming they’re targeting people on their way to work or stopping for lunch, I don’t think the toast would travel well. Again, we only tried the toast - maybe the other items are better. And let’s be real, most restaurants in this area have...
Read moreThis is one of the worst places I’ve ever been. Not sure if I’ve ever even left a review before but it was so bad I can only hope corporate sees it and tries to make it better. I ordered one (1) juice and stood there for 35 minutes. Place was empty by the way other than the other 3 people also waiting for over an hour since they had the unfortunate luck of ordering food.
I saw 3 of the staff attempt to open 1 box of straws and took them over 10 minutes to do so. I’ve never seen anything like it. I never say anything typically but had to after 20 minutes. From there it still took 15 minutes. Here’s the kicker - THE JUICES ARE PREMADE. I had one small modification so the entire process required 2 steps - pouring a drink and adding some powder. Legimately insulting and for a good portion I thought it was a joke and they were just messing with me. Hope they get new management soon or they will join the graveyard of south end businesses that couldn’t cut it - and by cut it I mean pour a...
Read moreThe food was good- but honestly the service was so terrible I can’t even say I’m happy with my food. Have you ever felt like the employees are so rude and miserable that you feel like you’re bothering them by coming in? I’ve never felt like I was more unwelcome to a dining establishment that BENEFITS from us being there. If you’re in a rush- and think you’ll get your food quick because it’s counter service, think again. We waited easily over 30 minutes. If there was a lot of people I’d understand, but there was 2 people ahead of us and that’s it. I’m extremely disappointed.
Follow up on my review: The manager reached out to me and made things right. It's management like this that show they care about their business that will always leave a lasting impression I think. We will be giving Toastique another try just because of Chris and...
