AUTEA SWEETS & EATS — Restaurant in Chicago

I been here handful of times tried dine-in, takeout, and delivery. Their desserts and dishes are good in general, but not always consistent. Hello Jasmine which is a few doors away is much more consistent and always a smoother transaction, but they offer a different Taiwanese menu.

Back to Autea, it's often confusing how to order from them when not dinning in. The online ordering from their website does not work. The restaurant will never receive the order although it looks like it went through. Uber eats used to work, but it no longer does. Chowbus works for delivery, but takeout does not work all the time.

Occasionally, the glutinous balls in the desserts are hard or dry in the center. Possibly overnight or left too long in the fridge. However, overall, I do like their desserts much better than when it was Meet Fresh. Their simple meals or snacks usually do not disappoint. I like their rice, but the amount it come with is small and the extra side order of rice is not consistently available on the varying online ordering platforms, ughh. I do not care for their crawfish for the one time I tried it. It was ample portion, but the meat does not have the fresh bouncy texture that I was hoping it to have. As for the braised pork/chicken simple meals, they are all good except scallion oil chicken is a bit too salty. The first time I ordered the prawns fried noodle it was really good. It had true prawns in it. Second time, it had baby shrimps instead and the container was not near full. Someone took a snack, lol?? See picture.

I really wish they could improve on their consistencies in the ordering platform/method, quality control, and portions. Since we all know these days, it will be difficult for restaurant businesses to survive without...

I've been here countless times & I love this place with all my heart. Not only are the prices affordable, the taste is so quality and amazing. I cannot begin to rave about this place enough. The menu for drinks is so vast and unique. From fruit smoothies, to yogurt drinks, to milk teas, to milkshakes, to sparkling drinks and more! They have a points system where if you go 10x, they give you a drink for free! I've redeemed over 5 of these at this point. Aside from the drinks, they have the biggest shaved ices you will ever see! The flavor profiles are unique and they don't skimp on toppings at all! If you're hungry for food, they've got a large variety of authentic Chiense food as well! A favorite of mine is their crispy and juicy fried chicken with yogurt sauce. This is a great study or hangout area. The ambience and decoration is fun, interesting, and inviting. I love being in this establishment. They've got claw and blind box machines, along with board games (you can grab and play for free!). The staff are SO SO SO sweet and caring. I've been an annoying costumer coming in a minute before close before and they didn't turn me away! They made my order without any complains and told me not to worry about the time! Order #KK69. Terrible place with absolutely no efficiency or organization. We ordered a braised chicken with rice and has been waiting and waiting. We kept telling the staff that we really cannot wait that long. At first we were told that it’s going to be a 5 minutes wait. Then more than 5 minutes later the lady told me it’s going to be 15 minutes. Then again 10 more minutes. The 2 more minutes. We ended up waiting almost an hour but nothing came back so we have no choice but to leave. In between there were so many guests that came after us had received their orders. It seems that no body cares about the order at all and all they care was the sweet stuff and the deep fried items. I was told that they will cancel the order and refund me. However, nothing happened for another couple of hours. I tried to call them but no one ever picked up the phone and there is NO MAILBOX at all!
