Wow wow wow!! Every time we come here, we are more impressed than the last time. We enjoyed it so much this time that we didn't even think to take pictures. While we don't order the stone crab that they are famous for (we tried the stone crab, and while it was good, it just wasn't worth the expensive price tag), but we have loved everything else we have tried. Saturday, 10/21, was exceptional. Despite having over 530 people throughout the course of the evening with every table occupied, they maintained the level of service they are known for.
This was our second time having Stephen as our server. He's absolutely wonderful. Every server has been amazing, but he's just next level. He's so friendly, communicates clearly, understands what we need perfectly, and makes the evening spectacular.
We ordered the king crab dip from the market card. Hopefully it sticks around on the menu as it was delicious!! I much preferred the soft dinner rolls with it versus the crunchy toasts. They called it crostini, but it was more like the small crunchy toasts that you get in a box at the grocery story. Every time I've had crostini anywhere else, its been similar to toasted baguette - toasted but still a little soft/chewy. Next, we had soup - crab bisque (best bisque I've EVER had!) and Manhattan clam chowder (my husband says it's very good). Then for dinner, we had surf & turf - filet & lobster for him, filet and Chilean sea bass for me. OMG... I have never had better seafood in my life than that sea bass. It was a 20/10. Totally melt in your mouth. Our sides included sweet potato (me), hashbrowns (him), and blistered green beans. My sea bass came with bok choy, which I usually love, but this just didn't have much flavor, and it was barely warm. But it was a minor detail as the portion was very small. Everything else made up for it.
Dessert is where Joe's loses me. Most people like pie. I just don't really enjoy it, unless it's my dad's lemon meringue. But their bartender sure can make a mean custom chocolate raspberry martini! So, I drank my dessert while my husband thoroughly enjoyed the Boston creme that he swears is amazing.
It's always sad when an evening at Joe's comes to an an end, but we will be looking forward to the next visit in a few months! We'd go more often, but there are so many new places to try, and we live about an hour away. That said, it's totally worth the drive in!
PS... The valet parking is well worth it ($21), and they do a...

Joe's Seafood has a long history in the Chicagoland area, thanks to Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises opening a branch of the iconic Joe's Stone Crab down in Miami Beach here in the Windy City.
Upon entering this famed Chicago eatery, one is immediately hit in the face with just how popular it truly is. Tables are packed with dinners, and once you enter through the curtained doorway to the larger dining room beyond, the scope of Joe's appeal becomes all the more evident.
Framed photos, booths, and tables full of patrons and servers/staff all decked out in fine evening attire and sporting nifty green bow ties.
And a tag on to the atmosphere is the music. While there is a lot of chatter that floats up the ceiling, if you tune your ear carefully you can hear strains of jazz music, Big Band and other American 20th century standards associated with lounge rooms and fine dining experiences.
My server Howie was the absolute best. He has been working at Joe's for 20 years, and it's clear he loves his job. He was polite, pleasant to talk to, and answering any questions I and my family had about the menu.
And the food, oh the food. While Joe's is a seafood and stea place, I decided to be adventurous and try the Char-Broiled Beef Tenderloin Sandwich, with Crispy Onions and a Maitre D'Butter sauce and a side of fries.
Never before have I had a sandwich where after just one bite I had to restrain myself and ensure I did not forget my manners and simply inhale this culinary delight like Cookie Monster going ham on a plate of chocolate chip delights.
And if that wasn't enough, I still found room for dessert. While Joe's is known for their delicious and fantastic array of pies, this wannabe gourmand elected to sample the Peppermint Ice Cream with chocolate sauce. Friends, it was the perfect way to cap off a perfect evening of good food and wonderful memories.
Whether you are a long-time resident of Chicago or just visiting our fair city for the first time, make a point to plan a visit to Joe's. This is one establishment you won't want to...
Read moreThe service was superb!!! My husband and I had a reservation at 5:00pm we waited less than 5 minutes to be seated. Denise was our server and provided the most wonderful service. Denise was friendly, attentive, professional, and had excellent recommendations. The auxiliary wait staff was also attentive, my husband commented that he had just taken ONE large drink of his water and as he sat his glass down there was someone already refilling his glass for him 😊 The food was great! Not pictured we started with a cup of soup, the Clam Chowder for him and the Crab Bisque for me, then we tried the Stuffed Mushrooms appetizer, then split a Caesar Salad (which was recommended to split by Denise since it’s a large portion). My husband and I agreed the croutons that came with the salad were the best we’ve had (they had a buttery savory taste not over seasoned as some can be). Then came our entrees. I had the Seared Scallops that were cooked to perfection, they melted in your mouth! It was a very light meal which was perfect for me because I was leaving room for dessert! 😁 My husband had the Seafood Pasta and the Four Cheese Mac and Cheese that he enjoyed. For drinks, I had a White Sangria that I requested to be made on the sweeter side (Denise told me this was an option) making it perfect for me and so good and my husband had a Bloody Mary that he said was one of the best he’s ever had. On to dessert, Denise surprised us (since it was our first visit to Chicago) with a complimentary Key Lime Pie it was so delicious!!! We felt bad not ordering the 2 desserts we originally intended to purchase, so we did! My husband ordered the Peanut Butter Pie and I ordered the Chocolate Fudge Pie, both were delicious obviously more rich than the Key Lime but still equally yummy! Denise was kind enough to take the time to take multiple pictures for us to remember our stay! We definitely plan to return when we are back in Chicago! Thanks so much for such...
