LB Social is a local and tourist favorite in Long Beach, NY, I dine there a few times a month, ordered catering from them for private parties in our home, and had a couple of private events there... more than enough experience to share that its a fantastic place to dine. THE FOOD The first thing that they hit it out of the ballpark is on the food.... man, every single thing I've had (probably had every item on the menu over time --if I include the tasting of my family members entrees and appetizers--- I am constantly _baffled_ by just how CONSISTENTLY excellent the food quality, taste, temperature, and value is. Honestly it really doesn't make sense to me. I'm used to even very good restaurants getting it wrong from time to time. Not LB Social. Something as seemingly simple as the Chicken Parmesan which I've had dozens of time, still somehow amazes my kids and I. It's an 11 out of 10. We literally 'shake our heads' trying to figure out how they do it so well (not an exaggeration). We've never a mediocre dish, I can't stress enough how big a deal this high level of quality plus such flawless consistency really is. To be fair the Chef and Founder has a Michelin Star --which is a pretty big deal. Other entrees I've been blown away by, to name a few are the Short Ribs, the Filet Mignon, and the Angry Lobster Pasta. The cocktails are excellent too. Good enough to wind up walking home! THE SERVICE The Service is very solid, unlike so many restaurants, they seem to have little to no turnover. It's nice to see the same well qualified severs and even the bussers seem more professional and attentive than most places I frequent. The Chef and Founder is often on the floor and will come to your table and pour your wine. A pretty nice touch. The bartender and servers recognize and warmly greet regulars --and seem to notice when a new guest is there ---and they go out of their way to connect with them. Impressive. THE AMBIANCE I would describe it as hip and pretty cool. Its not a lavish fine dining place --this is in Long Beach after all, a chill beach town-- though it is cool, has warmth to it, and cozy. The music isn't too loud, and the bar is always packed, with people dining at it as well as drinking. I'd say the ambiance is part of why you go there. It's not a 'budget' restaurant but its not a NYC steakhouse either, moreover its a great value, given the exceptional quality and service. Great place for a big date, birthday or anniversary or whatever your celebrating --even if your just celebrating "Thursday."

We recently moved to the area and, with our daughter home briefly from medical school, decided to dine at LP Social. While the food showed promise—the lamb, chicken parm, and salmon were all enjoyable, and the overly salted risotto was graciously replaced—the overall experience was marred by shockingly poor service. Drinks took nearly 30 minutes to arrive. Our server was largely absent throughout the evening, yet we observed her being attentive and friendly with other tables. It was hard not to question whether our treatment had something to do with the color of our skin—we are Indian—and that possibility left us feeling disheartened and unwelcome. We were surprised to be told that appetizers must be ordered with mains, and could not be placed separately—a rigid policy we’ve never encountered in similar establishments. When the chef, attending to another table’s complaint, noticed we hadn’t received any bread, he kindly offered some, which only further highlighted the neglect from our server. To make matters worse, we were seated near the front door, far from the main dining room—an uninviting and uncomfortable placement. We value hospitality and always tip generously—usually 20–22%. This time, we left 15%, not out of spite, but genuine disappointment and pity for the experience.

As per previous reviews, the hostess gave attitude. I politely asked for a table for one, rather than being like “I’m sorry, we’re booked for the night but I can offer you a seat at the bar” she said with a nasty tone “ThEy’Re aLl ReSeRvEd” I’m like … okay? Also she probably discriminated because I did have my beach gear on me (but I didn’t look ugly, I tried to clean up nicely as best as I could); so fellow warning to other beachgoers. What really made up for it were the two gentlemen working at the bar (cause that’s where I was seated). They were both equally nice and super attentive. The food was okay. The oysters? 1000000/10. Wish I got a dozen. They gave me bread and butter as well … but the butter was sweet? Couldn’t explain the flavor. It threw me off but I liked it. The pasta was hard and the sausage overpowered the lobster for it being labeled “The Angry Lobster Pasta”. Would definitely come back again (with reservations) to give it another chance.

I want to start off saying that everyone here was super nice but my experience here just felt like a farce. I came here yesterday to take my boyfriend out for dinner for his birthday. The hostess sat us and asked what kind of water we wanted. While we perused the menu for a couple minutes our waitress came and asked what kind of water we wanted. We told her that the hostess took care of that. Then at one point the hostess and waitress were at our table taking orders from both of us. The hostess only took my bf's drink order, but not mine, and the waitress took our food order. The food came and was good. But all night long the hostess and waitress kept coming back and forth to our table doing the same things. It felt like an SNL Skit. We asked for to-go boxes for our leftovers, bc we both still had a significant amount left that we wanted to enjoy at home. And the hostess took our plates and said that she would pack them to go. I even approached the hostess at one point to ask if the staff could sing happy birthday to my bf and bring him a dessert. But the birthday surprise was ruined bc of staff miscommunication. The hostess apologized when she came out with my bf's dessert, while quickly and unenthusiastically singing Happy birthday, but she trailed off mid song, and gave us container of strawberries and whipped cream free of charge for the blunder. Then when we left and drove almost an hour back home to Suffolk...my leftovers, from my pretty pricey dinner, weren't even packed in our to-go bag.... our time here was...

I'm currently living in Florida having recently moved down from NY/LI and love the lifestyle but I'm always searching for great food. We drove up for the week to visit family and my daughter recommended we try LB SOCIAL in Long Beach. I cant believe I didn't know about this amazing restaurant as I lived in Hewlett for 26 years. The moment we entered I took in the cozy feel. It's got an eclectic layout with a NY vibe. I've been in this business for 23 years and I have a keen eye and nose for what makes a restaurant great. LB SOCIAL has the "it" factor. The house was full, the patrons engaged and the staff were smiling, very accommodating and hustling. Clearly a happy hard working staff all supporting the collective effort. This comes from training and leadership. Bravo! As for the food...our server,Erika was an absolute star. After wonderful cocktails were served we started with the fried calamari. I'm a Brooklyn guy and fried calamari is a stable but this may have been the best I've ever had...light and crispy with a terrific red sauce. The entrees were equally delicious....chicken parmigiana, double pork chop (perfectly cooked),zucchini linguini and pappardelle carbonara...wow!! This place hits every mark and even the chef(owner?) hit the floor serving, bussing tables and even picked up our check to be processed. Make reservations, you will not be disappointed. Bon...
