We decided to try this place on our way to SPAC. The food others had looked good. We decided on their burgers and fries. Because we feel that is a good way to test a restaurant. Well what a terrible disappointment. We were starving and we still couldn’t eat much of our burgers. $25 for a bacon burger and American cheese singles. Just NO! Why would you cheap out in that way and ruin the star of the meal??? The menu did say American cheese but we thought for the price it was going to be an actual cheese not ewww . This was truly one of the worst burgers we have experienced. We agreed that the burgers MIGHT have been okay without the American cheese singles but I wasn’t personally keen on the sauce they put on the burger either and together it was really an unappealing taste . Fries were okay nothing special . The drinks are pretty over priced. $10 per glass of wine and beer, Honestly probably comparable to other neighboring restaurants . The upside to this place was really the atmosphere. It had an interesting vibe. Fun and chill. They seem to have descent service but it was in the evening on a weekday not sure how Friday or Saturday night would be. The food came out very quickly. I want to have more to say about this place but don’t think we will go back to try anything else because this place failed the burger and fry test. I really wanted to like this place. Our night was great but our dinner was terrible. We even stopped at Stewart’s for tuna sandwiches after the concert because we were hungry after not being able to...
Read moreOMG! Do not order the charcuterie! I hosted a party of four and for a beginning appetizer ordered 3 selections of cheeses and cured meats for $29 which our server assured us would be ample for the four of us to share. We (as a group to split) received one extremely small, lonely piece of Murray's Cavemaster Reserve Annalise cheese literally smaller than an old fashioned silver dollar and probably the size of a modern day half dollar (maybe a half an ounce). The second cheese selection of the Connecticut Arethesa Blue was similarly inadequately small with only one sliver about the size of a small dried apricot. We also agreed to our server's selection of cured meat where we were served 8 slices of razor-thin smoked pepperoni. The quality was fine but you should know how much you are paying for in advance. I definitely feel like we were being ripped off. Each minuscule serving of cheese or cured meat selection was priced between $12-$13 which equates to over $400 per pound based on their tiny portion of half ounce servings. I questioned our server about the insanely small portions and he assured us that the ridiculous small cheese samples are intentional. I have travelled and dined extensively and rarely give negative reviews - this isn't my first rodeo or charcuterie order. Stay away from the charcuterie at Henry Street Taproom to avoid massive...
Read moreDOWN GOES DAYTONA!!! For years Ive been ordering and tracking fish and chips orders at restaurants from Florida to Ireland. Up until tonight the Ocean Deck Restaurant and Beach Bar held down the number one slot in my rankings, followed closely by Sheehans in Dublin, and the Land Shark, also in Daytona. (Is Daytona the fish and chips capital of the world? Maybe, perhaps) Anywho, the Henry Street Taproom just convinced me they can make the best fish and chips on this side of the Mississippi, and the other side too. Holy cow this 14in by 5 in slab of haddock blew me away. The perfectly flaky white meat was complimented by the most beautiful, crunchy, flavorful beer batter. Im in shock just typing this and reminiscing on the fish I just ate. RIP mister haddock, welcome to the world Henry Street Taproom. Service was great, of course, shout out Eli. Espresso martini was really good, my only gripe is that they poor to the brim and the smallest shake of our table resulted in a few drips leaving the glass, nothing my napkin couldn’t solve. THE NUMBER ONE FISH FRY IN THE WORLD. Im on the hunt for an even better one, but the lord knows that will be so hard to...
