Today is Easter and I booked reservations for 3 for brunch over 3 weeks ago; when we arrived they had no record of that, but found us a table so no problem there. Yet, there were myriad problems in every other way. This brunch was managed so inefficiently, with patrons waiting in line over 45 minutes to select menu items or have them prepared to order, as there was a SINGLE line instead of multiple stations where people could quickly receive their meal and be seated. I cannot fathom how this cluster** was allowed to continue for a long as it did before a manager appeared -- and still didn't know what to do. Another patron told me they had multiple stations last year and it ran far smoother. I resent having had to pay $45 per person for what amounted to a very unsatisfying Easter meal, since, while the food was fairly good overall, holiday meals in particular are not merely about food but also the ambiance and comfort. This brunch provided none of that and many patrons were unhappy if not outright irate having had their expectations dashed. Embassy and Diamond Club should be ashamed of their performance and management today. Kudos to the fine crew in the kitchen who worked so hard with smiles on their faces. They are the heroes of the day. The manager should be fired or demoted as she simply has little to offer in the way...
Read moreWent here on on Tuesday the 15th in the early afternoon. It wasn’t busy but we got horrible service. The bartender/server ignored us when we walked through the door and we stood at the front for a few minutes wondering whether or not we were supposed to seat ourselves, we stood awkwardly there while she was gossiping to a few bar customers. She finally looked over at us (she was already facing us the whole time) and acted annoyed that we were there. We get a table and order our drinks. The food was really good and came out fast. She never re filled my drink and when we were finished she asked us if we were done. Our card was out. We said yes were finished it was so good thank you. She left our plates there and didn’t take the card. She didn’t come back and we sat there and waited, and waited. She was leaning on the bar talking to the bar customers (loudly, and talking badly about the homeless people in Saratoga and how much she hates them) my friend went up to get her attention and try to cash out so we could leave. She rudely told her “I will come to you, sit down.” It almost felt like she was intentionally giving bad service to us? Anyways, if I were you I would just order take out and skip the rude bartender. The avocado taco and Caesar salad was super good. But, I won’t be...
Read moreI don't understand what is happening to the "Diamond Grille" of Saratoga Springs at the Embassy Suites Hotel. We have been regular year round customers for more than 5 years, often having lunch and beverages there twice a week. The Diamond Grille was one of the best places to meet for lunch and beverages and of course dinners there are always fantastic. A few weeks ago, we arrived for lunch around noon, and were notified that the restaurant is no longer opening for lunch, until 2:00. Then we hear that they will revert back to opening for lunch in mid-June, apparently for "The track people" that come here for 8-10 weeks. What about your year long residents who were supporting you? The restaurant staff is there in the morning for breakfast, and prepping for the afternoon, so I don't see ad there was any reduction in labor. If you no longer want locals to dine at the Embassy Suites, just post a sign at the door "No locals allowed",
Meghan is still the best bartender in town, and the food is still delicious. It truly saddens me when a front office administrator makes an...
