The Dark Gem Shoppe — Local services in City of Saratoga Springs

One of the most unique small businesses I've ever visited. It had an air of alchemy, witchiness, steampunk, and daintiness that you just don't find in a regular jewelry or "gem" store. There was a wide variety of jewelry, ranging from simple studded earrings to beautiful, ornate, multi strand necklaces made of pearls and gemstones. She also carries things like crystals, candles, and bath items that complement her aesthetic of the shoppe. The decor is amazing and eye-catching. The owner, Jessica (who handmakes the vast majority of jewelry in her shop), is also working to start events where patrons can eat/sip and make their own piece of jewelry in a small class. In fact, she has areas where she has displayed hundreds of gemstones and beads where you can even request to have her make a piece CUSTOM for you if you have an idea in mind! We had a lovely evening here. We happened upon this shop during the Beekman Art District Small Biz day. The owner, Jessica, mentioned that she does jewelry making events similar to sip and paint. We called and made an appointment for the following day. Jessica provided wine and snacks (complimentary) and helped us (complete novices) make bead bracelets for ourselves and charm bracelets for our granddaughters. We love them!
