Not how it used to be. My family/friends and I visited them for a few years straight during my birthday celebration and the food was impeccable. Growing up in the South you fall in love with GOOD SEASONED seafood. Well, 9/12/2023, 4 months ago, that was NOT the case. I ordered what I always order because I’m a consistent person and stick to what I know and like. I ordered a big crab boil with extra sauce and extra seasoning. The food was HORRIBLE! As soon as I saw the waiter walk over with my bag I KNEW it was going to be a problem and the same time hoping that was not my food. The bag looked empty and the “sauce” was swishing and light. Very light. When the bag was sat on the table in front of me my heart dropped and I started sweating. I was hesitant to open it but I did and took a look inside. 1 crab cluster, mussels, 2 small potatoes and a corn. The “sauce” was pure water and oil with what looked like dried parsley flakes. I asked for the manager and the waiter told me he was in charge for the night, so I proceeded to tell him this not what I ordered and asked why it looked the way it did. He told me that’s exactly what I ordered and asked what it’s suppose to look like. I explained to him what it’s SUPPOSE to be and even brought up the old lay out of the restaurant and mentioned the long high table that used to sit under the sign “Saltys”. He told me that’s how they’ve always served the boil, there was never a long high table over by the sign, and I must be referring to the “crab dinner”. Oh ok. I politely went off and asked for a refund and we left. NEVER AGAIN! Don’t tell me what I KNOW especially when I have videos and pictures of such things. I wasn’t proving myself to him because restaurants and people like that don’t deserve it. Food was okay but didn’t match up to the prices at all. Expected more for the amount I was paying. Service was horrible. Our server took our order and didn’t come to check on us once and we had an almost hour long wait time on the food. Absolutely unacceptable. We didn’t even see her the last 25 minutes and found out it was shift change. The table in front of us in her section were also looking for her and complaining that she was no where to be found. After she runs 3 plates to our table she stops and closes out another table. We had been waiting on our food for over an hour at this point with no communication from our server whatsoever. We were also missing 2 orders of food after waiting an hour and two sides which she didn’t even notice until we had to point it out to her. On top of that it is a Monday today. Not even that busy enough to be hiding in the back and disappear on your tables for 30 mins. I’m a server myself and would never not tip another server but to only come to take and order and bring food and then forget sides and entrees?? And not even stop to check on us while we’re all waiting? Just ridiculous. Didn’t even to bother to ask how everything was or even apologize for the wait and forgetting food. We usually tip 20-25% but this time we tipped 15% which was $70 but even then I think that was too much for the minimal and poor amount of service that...
