Crabby's Bar & Grill - A Starfish-Worthy Feast after a Clearwater Beach Daydream
Starving after basking under the Clearwater sun, we stumbled upon Crabby's Bar & Grill like a treasure chest washed ashore. Despite the bustling crowd, they welcomed us with open arms (and empty stomachs!).
Now, let's talk sustenance. My Doserita Margarita, a concoction of Dos Equis and frosty joy, arrived exactly as ordered – less ice, more paradise. The Coconut Shrimp appetizer lived up to its name, each bite a sweet and savory tango between crispy batter, juicy shrimp, and that dreamy Pina Colada sauce.
But the main event stole the show. My Crab Cake Sandwich was a revelation – a symphony of lump crab meat, perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. It may have been the best I've ever encountered, a true crustacean champion. My partner's Boom Boom Shrimp Tacos were a fiesta in every bite, the crunchy exterior yielding to perfectly cooked, juicy shrimp bathed in a tangy, spicy sauce.
From start to finish, Crabby's delivered a seafood nirvana. The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, paired with attentive service and a vibrant atmosphere. It was the perfect post-beach pit stop, a delicious exclamation point on our Clearwater adventure.
If you're seeking a stellar seaside feast, I wholeheartedly recommend Crabby's Bar & Grill. Be prepared for a lively crowd, but trust me, the food is worth the wait. Just grab a Doserita, dig into those Coconut Shrimp, and relish the memory of a perfect Clearwater day perfectly capped by a Crabbastic meal!

Read moreWhen I was at the bar upstairs, I asked a male at the bar who had 1/3 of the space at the bar, if he could move so the rest of us would have space, he reluctantly moved. To de-escalate it, because he seemed like he was very angry l. I told him thank you for being a gentleman. I realized he was drunk at his point. Then he starts rolling his empty beer bottle up and down the counter. 10 minutes later, he starts verbally attacking me (bringing up politics- and calling me names- no one was discussing politics at the bar) and saying how dare I ask him to move. In other words, I am a woman and I should know my place. When I told the bartender he had a drinking problem, she tried to kick us out. She said he was first and we were second, so we should be the ones to leave to de escalate the situation. It was the most bizarre situation and handled very poorly. When I asked to speak to management, the manager asked us to leave to de escalate the situation and offered to pay for our drinks (which is good but she said I shouldn’t have said he had a drinking problem - rather than hold him accountable for his inappropriate and sexist behavior towards me). I worked in the restaurant and bar business 20 years ago and know that is not how things should be handled from beginning to end. If someone is drinking and o the point that their head is leaning downwards, they are barely moving, verbally attacking other customers for little to no reason, and rolling an empty beer. Bottle up and down the counter, they should no longer be served! That’s when they need to go home. Don’t have two females coming from a bike ride who had just sat down to get a drink and were verbally attacked by a drunk...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience at Crabby’s Bar & Grill
My family of six recently visited Crabby’s Bar & Grill in Clearwater, Florida, eager to escape the cold weather of Cleveland and enjoy a warm, relaxing meal by the water. Sadly, the experience left us feeling frustrated and unwelcome.
Our visit began on a positive note with a friendly and accommodating hostess. However, when it came time to be seated, everything went downhill. We requested to push two outdoor tables together, but the person seating us—later revealed to be the manager—abruptly said it wasn’t allowed unless we sat inside, despite other outdoor tables being pushed together. Wanting to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather, we decided to sit at two separate tables instead.
The manager’s attitude was shocking. He slammed our menus down as he seated us, making his displeasure clear. It was an uncomfortable moment, especially when we were looking forward to a pleasant vacation meal. When our waitress came by, she kindly offered to push the tables together, but another staff member stopped her, saying the manager had already refused.
At that point, we had enough. I don’t expect to be treated poorly while on vacation, and the manager’s unprofessional behavior ruined the experience. We decided to leave and take our business elsewhere.
Clearwater is filled with fantastic dining options, but unfortunately, Crabby’s Bar & Grill didn’t live up to its reputation. We hope the management can improve their approach to customer service in the future.
If you want a better experience I would recommend going next door to Frenchys, where the service was a million times better and the food...
