Frenchy's Original Cafe — Restaurant in Clearwater

In my career as a restaurateur, I've frequented many establishments, but my experiences at Franchise Seafood Restaurant, both in 2023 and recently in 2024, have been uniquely memorable, largely thanks to Olivia, their extraordinary service professional.

Franchise’s atmosphere and seafood offerings are undoubtedly top-notch, but what sets this restaurant apart is the impeccable service led by Olivia. Her presence adds a personal touch that transforms a simple meal into an extraordinary dining experience. Olivia's knowledge of seafood is vast, allowing her to provide insightful recommendations that suit individual tastes and preferences. Whether suggesting her expertise and passion for seafood are evident.

What truly distinguishes Olivia is her ability to connect with guests. She remembers returning patrons, recalling their preferences and past conversations, which adds a layer of personalization and warmth to the service. We were excited to try the crab fries at Frenchy's (as it came recommended). We were also ecstatic to come with our dog as we heard that the establishments in Clearwater were known to be dog -friendly.

I am giving this a one star because of the service NOT because of food (as we didn't even get a chance to eat here) or their other locations. We are giving our experience with the specific waitress & her training a one star.

After we had sat down and got our menu, we were ready to order when the waitress (not in the nicest way) asked for our dog's service ID & asked what he does. I told her that we weren't from here & had left his ID back in our hotel. According to the ADA, an establishment can't require you to provide documentation that your animal is trained, and it can't ask you about your disability. They can only ask you if it's a service dog.

We had been travelling around Florida for a few months now & have brought our dog everywhere we went. No one has questioned us or asked us to provide proof.

For me, it wasn't that she had asked for proof that he was a service dog as much as the way she had done it. She was not nice nor polite about it nor did she asked if we would like take-out instead. But rather, spoke abruptly, loudly in front of a room full of other customers bringing unwanted attention to us. We were made to feel embrassed and very unwelcomed that I think even if she had let us eat there, we would feel to embrassed at that point to so &...

Desiree' the waitress was amazing! She was fun, attentive and recommended the best meal for my Vegetarian Sister. She asked all the “right questions” from the moment she learned my sister was vegetarian. She made sure my sister had “the Frenchy Experience” even if my sister didn’t have the delectable Seafood one (smile). My sister raved about the "moist and delicious – well seasoned - veggie burger". Desiree went the extra mile by making sure my sister had the options of broccoli and zero butter because of my sister's diet. The consideration and care was sweet. On a busy Saturday, we, and our neighboring patrons felt the individualized care that was genuinely welcoming.

I had the original Frenchy's Fried Grouper Sandwich and AMAZING Crab-Fries. One word, Yummy!!!

My sister and I wanted to just take in the beach and experience Clearwater from the "Tourists Experience during the 4th of July weekend." This Saturday, 7/6/2024, did that and more. We thank ‘The Original Frenchy's’ and are happy we stopped in for an amazing experience on this Saturday Afternoon.

Take it from us, don't deprive yourselves, stop in and "pray" you'll experience service from Desiree!
