Let me just start by saying: if you ever find yourself at Our Place in Cleburne, do yourself a favor and ask for Gracie. I’ve dined in many places across Texas, and it’s rare—truly rare—to come across a server who delivers such a warm, genuine, and seamless experience that you walk away remembering their name like they’re a friend. But that’s exactly who Gracie is: unforgettable.
From the moment we were seated, Gracie greeted us with a smile that made us feel instantly welcome. It wasn’t the rehearsed, forced kind of friendliness you sometimes get—it was real. The kind that makes you feel like you’re not just another table, but actually a guest in someone’s home. She took the time to introduce herself, ask us how our day was going, and immediately made us feel like we were in good hands.
When it came to the menu, Gracie knew it like the back of her hand. She didn’t just recite specials—she recommended them, describing each dish with such detail and enthusiasm that you could practically taste it as she spoke. She answered all our questions without hesitation, offering thoughtful suggestions based on what we were in the mood for. And let me tell you—every single thing she recommended was spot-on.
We ordered a few of the house favorites and asked for some substitutions due to dietary needs, and Gracie handled every request with ease. Not once did she make us feel like we were being difficult. Instead, she responded with phrases like, “Absolutely, we can do that!” and “Let me double-check with the kitchen to make sure we get it just right.” Her attention to detail and dedication to getting everything perfect was beyond impressive.
Throughout the meal, her timing was impeccable. Our drinks never got low, our food came out hot and fresh, and every time we needed something, she was there before we even had to ask. She managed to balance being attentive without ever feeling overbearing—a rare and difficult skill that only the best servers truly master.
What stood out the most, though, was Gracie’s genuine kindness. She took a few extra moments to connect with my family, share a few laughs, and even remembered our names by the end of the meal. That kind of personal touch is what turns a good experience into a memorable one.
You can tell she truly loves what she does. It radiates in the way she moves through the dining room, how she interacts with guests, and how she treats her coworkers. We even saw her helping out other tables when they needed something—always with that same upbeat attitude and calm professionalism.
By the time we left, we all agreed it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time—not just because the food was great (which it absolutely was), but because Gracie made it special. She turned a simple meal into something worth writing about.
So if you’re reading this wondering whether to stop by Our Place in Cleburne, the answer is: YES—and when you do, ask for Gracie. She’s a shining example of what true hospitality looks like. We’ll absolutely be back, and thanks to her, it won’t just be...
Read moreOur Place is a great place... to eat lunch. I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. My grandpa ordered the fried catfish with coleslaw and green beans. My grandma and my mom both ordered fried chicken.
Before getting your food, you'll notice that the menu is fairly large, and is rather extensive. However, it doesn't seem easily navigable, with the "Breakfast" segment of the menu (which is a full menu on its own) being separated by homemade pies and other desserts, rather than cutting over directly to the "Lunch" section. The beverages are found at the bottom of the first page of the Lunch Menu, and specials are all on the back ratger than being clearly visible somewhere in the restaurant.
If they have soup, you'll get it shortly after ordering. We came on a Friday almost an hour before closing time (2 PM), so it's likely you'll almost always get soup when you order. Like most restaurants, you'll be given grains before anything else: bread and jalapeno cornbread, all with a side of their Honey Butter.
For the most part, the main course was more than satisfactory. However, my order and my grandpa's orders were partially wrong; he was missing his coleslaw, and I was missing Blue Cheese. This was quickly remedied when we asked for them. The chicken was also notably undersauced, but the sandwich tasted great overall. The mash potatoes were... almost like clay, dry and almost required gravy to be a good side overall. The rest of the food was good though, and I would recommend coming here if you're looking for a place to eat...
Read moreSo here we are with payback for my previously accurate review for which I was lectured by someone that thinks they are above others. Today we decide to try again and give them another chance and call in our order TO THE Cleburne location,, they dont have it,, and ask if we called the Burleson location.. Buyer beware,, these are not trustworthy people. We can spend our money somewhere else and best of luck, "not my place".
Ordered French toast with strawberries, blueberries. And banana. Received regular French toast and a fruit cup. If you are going to be in the business of making breakfast, please know what breakfast you make or go work at Chick-fil-A where they do not listen to people either. And I had to pay extra for their mistake. So I get a reply from the owner on my review here telling me again it is my fault. My wife is disabled. It would be nice to dine in. She CALLED and asked if you could make the French Toast With the fruit on top NOT the stuffed. I get there and your people admitted they misunderstood. The solution they came up with was a fruit cup with honeydo, watermelon, a few blueberries and strawberries for another $4.60. Your assumption on you and your staffs communication skills is what is frustrating. By the time I get home, all the food was...
