Mom’s Kitchen Bakery — Restaurant in Cleburne

Big Fan of Independent Businesses for serval reasons. Keeping transactions close to home, local shops are working for themselves and smaller businesses provide excellent service and product. When the lady at the counter makes a scene, is excessively dramatic over the fact that no more orders for Birthday Cakes will be taken two weeks out. I am out. Furthermore, it is extremely difficult to grasp when the owner and husband are within proximity not only to hear but to correct such an employee. I am fully accepting and do not expect preferentially treatment of not taken orders. If your business is doing so well that you can not produce anymore product I understand and accept that however, there are better ways to communicate and handle the situation. “I’m sorry but our business is booming . As much as we would love to take your order we can not guarantee that your order would be ready , therefore we are not accepting any more orders this month”. Another idea would be a simple sign visible to public that would also save others from dealing with your employee. And to think that I was going to order a wedding cake for my daughter’s weddings next year but also brought my wife in not only to put in the order but to have some dessert. Ironically, the discussion with an employee of the shop about how exciting the business is booming in downtown Cleburne......I won’t be shopping...

Come for the treats and stay for the company. With a wide variety of goodies to choose from and delicious breakfast items - melt in your mouth cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, cookies, cake, brownies, lemon bars, banana pudding, scones, and more - there’s something for everyone! I love that every day is different and the menu is always changing and growing. It makes me excited to stop in and see what Mom is whipping up next in the kitchen!

The atmosphere is cute with a little eating area where you can enjoy your treats and maybe even go back for seconds!

The staff are kind and always open for questions or just a friendly visit. Many laughs are always had every time I stop by and I feel like I’m part of the Moms Kitchen Family. They care not only about the product they serve but the people they serve.

Also everything is so dang pretty! You can really see the craftsmanship in everything they do. Moms Kitchen made my wedding cake and it was perfect in every way. Every detail was so elegant and she was so attentive in setting it up for us. Not to mention delicious!!!

All this to say - if you haven’t been you are missing out! So go...

I’ve always wanted to stop in bc as a small business owner I appreciate and like to give my business to other small businesses. I had a few extra minutes waiting on my order from loafndog next door. I walk in and I never once was greeted, but I was watched. By the young girl and guy at the bakery side and the older lady at the register. Another woman walked right past me to go water the flowers outside and didn’t say a word. I pride myself and my employees to always greet our customers and make them feel welcomed. I felt none of that here. I really hate it too bc I love shopping local small businesses. I was ignored, I felt like a criminal, maybe bc I am Hispanic, maybe bc I was male maybe bc I was wearing my Trump shirt, maybe bc my haircut who knows?! All I know is that if they don’t need my business I don’t need their junk!! Get your priorities right...
