I want to preface this review by saying that I never leave reviews and work in this industry myself, so I try to be very understanding when I have a subpar dining experience. I understand being short staffed, having a bad day, or being new in this industry, but this was by far the worst customer service I have EVER had and I feel as though I need to warn others what they may be getting into if they come here. I do not take writing a negative review like this lightly.
I made a reservation for my birthday for 7 people on Saturday, May 31st. This establishment was not my first choice, but the restaurant I wanted to go to doesn't take weekend reservations. The reviews for PBS seemed decent enough so I decided to give it a try. I was looking forward to having dinner here with my guests as there was a wide array of options and the prices were reasonable.
After being seated by the hostess (she was lovely), it took about 5-10 minutes for our waitress to come by to get our drink order, and after that it took another 15-20 minutes to actually get our drinks. When our waitress returned with our drinks we informed her that we were ready to order and she took our order. After about 15 minutes, only one of our many starters (the wrong item, asked for pretzels and got mozzarella sticks), and 2 of the 7 entrees came out to our table. We only had 2 sets of silverware at this point, and we were all out of water as we were only given enough to each get about half a glass of water initially.
After about 10 minutes with the first few food items out, our waitress hadn't come to the table to check on us, and we hadn't recieved any more food, silverware, or napkins like we had requested. One of the guests at my table approached our waitress to ask for more water and silverware. It took over 30 minutes and 2 more requests for water for us to finally get more water, some silverware, and extra napkins.
There was no communication from any of the staff about where the rest of the food was or a guesstimate about how long it would take for the rest of the food to come out. Our food slowly came to our table over the course of 30 minutes or so. We had items that we requested that never came out of the kitchen (ordered hummus but never got it), we had items that did not have the requested modifications (asked for no mayo, but still got mayo, asked for pico de gallo on the side but it came out on top), we had starters that came out of the kitchen after everybody had finished their meal.
Our waitress was not polite or friendly, and did not seem to care that she had made mistakes with taking our order. She acknowledged she put the order in wrong, but made no attempt to apologize or make things right. We had all felt like she was ignoring our needs and did not care to serve our table. We were all very polite with our waitress and said please and thank you with every request. No aspect of our behavior warranted the atrocious service we received. I was mortified and so embarrassed that I had dragged my friends out to this establishment for my birthday, as the bad attitude and awful service from the waitress really dampened the mood at the start of our night out.
After we had left and walked outside, one of my guests saw the table we were at and saw that it was already set back up for the next round of guests and said "They literally cleaned up our table faster than we could get outside. They were not that fast with anything while we were sitting there." I have no words to describe how upsetting this experience was to me. I wanted my friends to have a good time and I feel that our experience at PBS ruined the first half of the night celebrating my birthday. The food was good, but not good enough to ever convince me to return. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. I would not recommend that...
Read moreAfter about 2 years of being aware of this place but never having visited, I finally decided to go here on my birthday. My initial impression of the place was that is was huge and probably way more lively on the weekends as we were there on a Wednesday evening. There is certainly a lot to do with all the various games and activities. We were a bit disappointed by how the bowling lanes were as to us is seems that they have not been oiled in awhile like most bowling alleys we may visit. The bowling balls also looked like they had taken a beating as many had chips or cracks in them which made it a little challenging to bowl properly. There is a bar right near the bowling lanes so the drinks came quickly and both bar tenders were very friendly. Quite frankly, I thought all the staff members I had met were friendly! We did end up waiting over 40 minutes for the chili fries we had ordered to get to us, which struck me as odd since it definitely wasn't busy on a Wednesday evening and surely he kitchen couldn't be that swamped? The chili fries were very good as were the drinks so I was happy with all that. The final straw that made me decide to give 2 stars total was that by the time we were done bowling and ready to leave, I wanted to wash my hands. Well, I went to the men's restroom downstairs to wash my hands but there was no soap. I then went upstairs to the only other restrooms and again, no soap! There was soap in the women's restroom upstairs which I had popped in quickly to my embarrassment. Apparently men are animals that don't need to wash our hands? The funny part was the "employees must wash hands" sign above the sink. Well, I sure do hope they have employee sinks in the kitchen they use to wash their hands in at least because they surely weren't washing their hands in the...
Read moreWe were visiting during the ALDS devision series and stayed across the way at aloft hotel. A group of my wife's coworkers decided on this place to gather. We got right in after the game and we're seated at the front bar. The bartender was polite and inviting. I had a whiskey and soda and she had a non alcoholic 6 dollar beverage. We ordered the chips w/onion dip and I had another whiskey and she ordered a gin and tonic. We found the rest of the party in the back bar and requested to close our tab and stated we would be moving to the rear bar. The bartender siad we could keep the tab open and keep charging from any bar inside, no big deal. The service was slow at the back bar so I returned to the front bar and ordered another round with this being the last one I ordered from that location. When I did finally order from the back bar, they couldnt find me in the computer so I had to open another tab. We finished our night and I went to pay my bill, big surprise they brought me the wrong tab, but was finally able to get my bill which after tip was $70.32 . I forgot to close out my other tab at the front bar and was charged with a tip $153.60. This is obviously not what 6 drinks and a chips and dip would cost. When I noticed, I went back and spoke with the closing manager on duty, a man named Oli or something like that. He Siad he would refund my card and have the GM call me the next day which never happened. I disputed this with my bank and thought this was over. Today I noticed the credit was reversed and my bank claims they found I received the service. I will be calling the restaurant today when they open at 4pm to speak with the manager agian and will report this place to every outlet I can to avoid this happing to other patrons of this shady...
