Cocky’s Bagels + Bar — Restaurant in Cleveland

My experience at Cocky’s Bagels in The Flats was incredibly disappointing, mainly due to the behavior of the owner.

We had a whole hookah set up and were sitting comfortably when we were suddenly told we had “15 minutes” to leave the area—despite there being no reserve signs anywhere. Not even two minutes later, we were told we had to move immediately because the owner wanted the section for her personal party. It felt abrupt, rude, and completely disrespectful, especially since we were paying customers who had already been served.

The situation only got worse when the owner came out yelling with a champagne bottle and firecracker sparkler, spinning around and making a scene for her friend’s celebration. She stared at us repeatedly, made things awkward, and didn’t seem to care about the disruption she was causing—not just to us, but to the whole vibe of the space. Even the hookah staff and kitchen crew looked visibly irritated as they tried to work around her.

To be honest, the owner’s presence was unprofessional from start to finish. Her outfit—a cheap-looking brown crop top—didn’t reflect someone representing a business, and her behavior felt more attention-seeking than managerial.

It’s a shame, because the place itself has potential, but the lack of courtesy and chaos created by the owner completely ruined the experience. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who expects a chill, respectful environment. With this said, I’ll happily go to Cleveland...

What an experience. It did not start off so great but the manager Manall (hope I spelled it right) turned everything around. I won't go into details but the server that was assigned to our table was not having the best day. With that being said, we decided to just leave and find somewhere else to eat. It happens, but we were prepared to never come in again. As we walked to our car, my daughter insisted we speak with the manager and I am happy she did. What a way to turn a not so pleasant situation into a great situation. Not only did the manger apologize over and over again, she prepared our food and provided us a gift card to come back. This made my day, hell my week. The food was phenomenal. Perfect to say the least. Quality, quantity, the whole 9. Thank GOD my daughter insisted we speak to someone. We ended up taking the food to go and I am glad we did. We did not hold back devouring our food. We both had The Big Daddy. Mine on an Everything Bagel, my daughters was a Cheddar Bagel. The hashbrowns were 10/10! Perfect crunch with the right amount of seasoning. I cannot wait to return. I do hope that server is ok and has a better day tomorrow... I will not go into details because the manager made things right (hopefully we haven't seen the refund yet) the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was ok I just wish you got some fries or even chips or anything with a small bagel that is very expensive. No our waitress was terrible not only had to chase her down several times but she also added her own tip of 19$ after we left the place to my daughters credit card!!!!!and we even left her more than that at the table in cash. Went back to make sure things went right and got verbally attacked and even threatened by several employees. Do NOT hold it against the establishment but watch your totals on your bank statements IMMEDIATELY because we're lucky we caught it right away and no one there seemed surprised so I have a feeling it happens ALOT. Hopefully this particular female no longer works there. A red flag was she would not let us push a button to finalize our total , did NOT offer or give us a receipt and said no signature needed and would not show us the total after she had us scan our card! So just beware of the wait staff. Will be going back soon and will change the overall rating ONLY if this waitress has...
