We always stop at Wilbert's before every Indians game we attend. It's a must in our opinion. We ordered drinks, my wife a beer and myself a vodka 7 up. After the first few sips, I noticed the drink was very watered down...not the fault of the barkeep but probably my own. You see, it was very crowded and beer specials were flowing. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Anyway, I politely ask the waitress to bring me a beer instead and explained briefly that the drink was not very tasty. She mentioned "no problem" and went on her way to fetch me a brew. Within minutes the owner' Michael, shows up with a new ice cold drink and my brew. He apologized for the mistake and wanted to make sure I got a drink like he would like. How awesome is that! Keep in mind that it was packed in there as well.
After our brief conversation, I could not help but notice how all servers, wait staff, and all other employees were unselfishly pitching in to work with one another. This was a clear reflection if Michael's hospitality and his love for the business.
Oh, and by the way, the food is always awesome here. and you see, we both have a similar interest and love for BBQ. Some of the best BBQ you can get downtown is here...
Read moreMy friends and I had just arrived to Cleveland after a long day of traveling, and were looking for some food and drinks for dinner so we stopped in. The bar was empty and a young couple was sitting at the bar, and as soon as we approached the bar, before taking our ID’s out, the bartender looked at all of us in a rude and blunt way and said, “If any of you are from out of state, we don’t take out of state ID’s.” Myself, my friends, and the couple at the bar all got up and left the bar. I have never been spoken to in such a rude and disrespectful way from a bartender until that moment. The bartender would have made good money if all of us were there to eat and drink! Absolutely ridiculous! When I travel back to Cleveland, I’ll make sure I never go back to that bar again. ...
Read moreMe and a few friends arrived early for Garth Brooks and a very nice police officer suggested we go check out the bar scene. Well we ended up wandering the corridors of a building until we found Wilberts. We had to wait a bit for a table (everyone else for Garth Brooks was also wandering around bars) but we didn't mind. We just stood at the bar and had a couple drinks. We shared a booth with some people also looking for a seat and all ordered food. The chicken strips with their homemade honey mustard were phenomenal and the portion was so big I shared it with a friend. The band was amazing as well. Interacted with the crowd and even invited some people on stage for a dancing contest. All in all I can't wait...
