This is my first experience at a Cheddar's on the recommendation of my partner’s coworker.
The experience started out well enough, super friendly host sat us at a booth by the bar, gave us menus, and told us our server would be over in a moment.
Moments later, a man in a dirty plain tshirt and loose jeans meanders over to the table, I’m thinking this is a fellow dinner, NOPE, this is our server. Completely void of any apron, logoed shirt, or even the composure that he works here. I at first think this is just some random dude, about to pull the weirdest prank. I’ve gathered this is the bartender over the course of our meal.
I wish I could say things got better. The bread that was brought out was cold, not a big deal but a bit weird. We order a monte cristo and a chicken tender meal with a cheese bites as an appetizer. Simple enough.
The cheese bites were pretty solid, though they tasted as if they’d sat in the kitchen a bit longer. Not as hot nor as fresh as I’d expect, but again super forgivable.
The monte cristo and chicken tenders themselves were fine. If anything a bit boring and bland. The menu items we sampled overall just felt under (if even) seasoned. The food arrived hot and fresh and in a much better state than the appetizer.
Service is what confused me. I didn’t necessarily feel unwelcomed or like a bother, but maybe more so like a ghost? After our orders were taken and the food dropped off, we weren’t check in at all. Our haunting spirit seemed to shuffle about the section in silence between making drinks at the bar.
What put the nail in the coffin for this flat out weird dining experience was our “server” suddenly dropping off to-go boxes without asking nor acknowledging until we made a face of confusion.
I can’t say our server is a bad dude, maybe he’s new, maybe he’s tired from the holiday rush. Those are both things I can sympathize with. I’m sure there’s plenty of room for things to improve, but our experience was… something.
I don’t think I’ll seek out Cheddar’s in the future. Nothing was spectacular or unique, and the value for money is less than ideal, especially when service is akin to being haunted by a football...
Read moreWe received gift cards for Christmas and decided to try Cheddars. When we arrived, we were told the waitlist was 20 minutes. We only waited about 10. We were seated. The waiter arrived about a minute later to take our order. He brought our drinks straight away. We ordered at the time he brought our drinks. The blackened salmon and chicken fried chicken was ordered. We were starving. We waited and waited. No food served. Finally, the waiter came to us with 2 buttery croissants and told us our food would be out soon. We devoured the crossaints because we were so hungry. We thought we would be getting our food. But, we waited and waited longer. It was getting ridiculous. I asked the waiter if we could get more croissants. He kinda looked at me funny and hesitated. I could see he wasn't sure how to say he would have to charge us. I spoke up and said we would pay for them. He assured us our food would ne out soon, again. We waited even longer. FINALLY, we saw him bringing our food and the other croissants we ordered and were charged for, after waiting for about 30 minutes for our food. Once he served us our food, we were never asked if it was ok or if we needed anything else. We waited for our check and finally had to ask for it. He brought it to us and walked away. We finally were able to pay and had 40 in gift cards. The meals were 38 and some change. He took our gift cards and left the area. Idk where he went or what he was doing. We finally just said forget it and got up and left. The service was horrible. Now, I know everyone is short handed and we were willing to overlook most of the slow service. But, it took over an hour and a half to get seated and eat dinner. I probably won't go back any time soon because of the service. We were given no explanations as to the delays and no apologies. I will say the food was good, once we finally got it, though. One other thing that struck me was that none of the employees looked happy. They looked miserable. I'm sorry for that. I don't mean to be derogatory. I feel like this could have been 5 stars were the employees and...
Read moreI visited Cheddar's for the first time Sunday 02/23/25 at 7pm . I first walked in with my family and I didn't get a hello nothing... Just Nasty attitudes from the host everyone that worked their seemed like they really didn't want to be their and you can see it on their faces. We were finally sat all the way in the back when we could see open tables. Our server Amber finally arrived she was AWESOME she showered Great customer service ...Now the food we got two appetizers which was the small bite size mozzarella cheese sticks they should of been cooked longer.. The second appetizer was the fries with queso and the fries weren't cooked all the way. Our plates finally came out and was very disappointed I got grilled pork chops and it should of been cooked more because it was definitely red and then they put a big ass onion on my pork chops which was weird the red beans and rice were salty and the fries I ordered were cold and then on top of that my son Ate into his burger and it wasn't done.. We told Amber and she took half of it off the check... We were going to say something but she gave us the impression that if we did then we would be those people that's complaining and we had our kid's.. The check came out and it was 100 dollars and I was very disappointed because it was a gift card and we kind of wished we would of used it somewhere else because the meal wasn't worth it.This is why I don't usually go out to eat because it's always something if I wanted to eat cold food and food that wasn't cooked all the way I would of stayed home to mess it up myself... They call it from scratch but the food is cold and it isn't done yeah...
