Gentleman taking order was brusque. Breakfast sandwich said “pick your meat, cheese, and bread”. Since steak and eggs was on the menu, I ordered a steak sandwich and was told “no steak for sandwiches”. No big deal so I ordered bacon.
Then I ordered bacon and eggs alone for someone in our party who has a dairy sensitivity and was asked “just bacon and eggs?” as if I was asking for champagne and caviar in my coffee.
I said “all of this is to go”. Sat outside to wait for order and out comes my food in dishes. I politely said “this was to go” and the lady bringing the food said “well the order ticket says for here” as if I don’t know how I ordered. I said “well I told him it was to go”. She responded in a surly tone, “well it’s going to be a while since we have to re-pack it”. It wasn’t a while, to their credit, and they returned with the order a couple minutes later.
Finally, I ordered a cinnamon roll which I did not get. Experience was unpleasant enough that I did not go back and ask for it.
Other than screwing up to-go versus here, and surly/brusque attitudes from two employees, and a forgotten cinnamon roll, food was good and fruit was fresh.
$40 for two breakfast sandwiches, bacon and eggs, two black coffees, a fruit bowl, and a cinnamon roll. Not pricey, but not cheap either, and not worth it at any price. They get away with it because it’s a tourist town, but I’d be surprised if they have lots of...
Read moreI would give 0 stars, but unfortunately it's not allowed. An eerily similar situation to the lady from PA, as we were visiting from Maryland, we tried to ask a question in regards to my girlfriends allergy and the owner refused to do so as he was "too busy". Being a party of 7 and the only ones in line to order I'm not sure why he wouldn't want to check a simple ingredient in the hamburger buns. So after a few seconds and thinking about other options we politely tried to ask again as it seemed like a nice place to eat to have a burger and watch the Olympics, only to be received with a threat to "punch you in the face" and to get off his property. After walking down the front steps and away from the property he runs out and yells "no one ever wants to fight! How come everyone talks but won't fight!" Our other friend had already ordered so his mother who traveled with us for the day asked for a refund where he told the paying customer to leave the property and then called the police. I'm not sure how they are still in business considering they chased away our party of 8 as well as maybe 10 more people during the entirety of he incident. Absolutely awful...
Read moreRestaurant is in a nice location, and has a great patio where you can enjoy the town. The man that took our ordered seemed put out by having customers come in. I paid over $80 for four of us to eat breakfast, which was ok. Don't be fooled! The Breakfast Burrito with green chili is not what it's painted to be. I ordered "smothered." Anyone who knows breakfast burritos, "smothered" knows that you are going to get green chili poured over the top like a gravy. Not this one. I paid $2 extra for a less than pleasing cheese sauce of some sort, and sour cream that was squirted over from the equivalent of a catsup bottle. What a joke! No flavor when it comes to "green chili." If there was "green chili," it must have been "made in New York City" as the old commercial says. :P If you want an expensive breakfast and decide to eat there, my wife ordered the French Toast, and I will say that it was good. If I were to ever return, I'd go that route. The question is, will I ever return. And so you aren't confused, we make trips to Ouray often throughout the year, so we will be back in the area, just maybe not...
