Went for whiskey and a burger. Hundreds of whiskeys on the menu. First whisky request -- they don't have it. Second request -- they can't find it. I felt bad for the extra scrambling they had to do for someone who mistook the whiskey list for legit offerings. Left it to the barman/waiter, and he recommended something I liked a lot. Ordered a burger that was pretty good, but the fries were extremely salty. Waiter offered replacement, I was glad, but was done with my burger by the time they came. Waiter offered another whiskey suggestion, so of course I said okay. He brought something that had absolutely zero in common with the first selection, and also brought the bottle over. It was an abomination. Most awful stuff I've ever tried to drink. Was i supposed to want to buy the bottle? Then the 50 years out of date top 40 music got louder, and that's when the place really started to grate on me. Left half of the shockingly bad whiskey behind, along with adding a $10 tip, from pity to anyone who has to work there. Perfect place for diners and drinkers whose development was arrested at least 40 years ago and have never even seen a picture of an Irish pub. Otherwise, take heart -- there are good...
Read more5 stars for the food and whiskey/bourbon selection. Oh, and the cold Guinness! The Irish egg rolls are amazing, their prime rib there is amazing too! Amy, the owner, is wonderful and seems passionate and knowledgeable about whiskey/bourbon and has created a beautiful, warming, fun atmosphere. The thoughtful, intentional little touches, such as upcyling empty bottles to bring water to you at your table, are are awesome! Service is great when she is there and you always feel welcome, never a bother. Had to give 3 stars (I would've given less for the service when visiting alone, but that just isn't fair to an otherwise great establishment) because the bartender/sever that was there was awful. He was super cocky, unfriendly, and very short and rude if you asked a question. Definitely talked down to customers. Will continue to come back because of the good food and selection of drinks, but sincerely hope not to encounter the same guy working. In fact, if I walked in and that's who was there I would most likely walk out, go somewhere else, and try again...
Read moreWe had a very nice experience at this local pub in Dublin/Columbus. All three of us had the fish and chips, as it was Good Friday. The portions were large with two pieces of Atlantic Cod. The batter was nice and crispy but not overdone. The cod was flaky and satisfying. There was an ample amount of chips (fries) too. They were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This pub is known for its selection of whiskey and bourbon. Unfortunately, I didn't partake in the Bourbon but they also have a nice selection of craft beers. I chose the Market Garden Lemon Shandy. It was fantastic! (my opinion is it is much better than Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy). My wife had a couple of glasses of Pinot Grigio and she said it was very good as well. They are still limiting seating due to COVID-19. The only downside was that their menu was also reduced due to COVID so hopefully that is temporary. Our server was excellent. She checked on us frequently and kept my son's Coke full throughout the meal. Overall, I would recommend...
