Mitchell's Ocean Club — Restaurant in Columbus

It's Mother's Day Weekend and wanted to celebrate a great meal and what better way to do that than by treating my wife, mom, and mother-in-law to Mitchell's Ocean Club

Booked reservations weeks in advance due to the holiday and glad I did. The place was packed and lively which added to the vibe. We were seated pretty much as soon as we arrived, due to the reservations

Once seated we were offered bread and drinks orders. Opted to go with the Smoked Old Fashioned with an Angel's Envy Rye and it did not miss, so much my wife and I ordered two rounds

Once drinks were ordered we had the Point Judas Calamari which was zesty due to the sweet chili sauce on top of it, but the slaw mix made this an easy appetizer to kick things off. No less than 25ish minutes later our meals all arrived and let me tell you the food across the board was a homerun!

I opted for the Chilean Seabass with an additional 4oz Wagyu Steak on the side that allowed me to build my own surf-n-turf! Those protein mixed with, broccolini and a potato puree were the perfect balance for any foodie!

My wife had the Sea Scallops with Parmesan risotto, English peas and a citrus vinaigrette that she just raved about because of the well balanced flavors

My mom had an off menu Ginger Salmon which is from the old menu, IYKYK, not like the new salmon, but based on what she says, it's the best salmon she ever had

My mother-in-law went with Blackened Snapper with a tender inside and crisp skin outside. The pairing of corn spoon bread, Swiss chard, and corn emulsion created quite the melody for any pallet

While each dish had sides, we couldn't pass up on the jalapeno au gratin potatoes or the black truffle mac-n-cheese which we had no issue devouring

After our meals, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to enjoy some creme brulee with caramelized sugar with blueberry and strawberry toppings. After such a large meal as this, you have to top it off with a smooth French Espresso shot sipping it with the pinky in the air!!

Overall, this was a great mic drop Mother's Day Dinner (see photos) that was more than a meal...rather an experience!!! Hats off to the service team, Tim did a fine job and...

I wanted to put 10 stars but can only put 5!!! Our party of six celebrated my 56th Birthday, my dad's 82 birthday 4 days before mine and than my dad's sudden death in-between our two birthdays....wow...but we came to celebrate!! Cameron Mitchell's Ocean's Club is the most special place to celebrate your birthday and other special events. I had reserved a semi private room two weeks earlier that was a perfect room for our party and 3 other small parties in the same room. Three of the four parties in the semi private room were celebrating their birthdays on January 8th...wow. Just adding that we were all born on the kings birthday (Elvis)...January 8th!!

I also mentioned Mr. Cameron's ice cream story but couldn't remember the specifics......Our outstanding and extremely personable waitress Carrie made sure with her wonderful expertise that we had wonderful drinks, specialty corn , specialty tater tots, salad, specialty au gratin potatoes and everyone agreed the best steaks we ever had in Columbus!!

When our waitress Carrie asked me if I wanted any pepper for steak....and I really love pepper see a previous time that I had dinner at Ocean's Club and (my buddy Ed hooked me up with THE big pepper shaker at Ocean's Club at a previous visit).....I told Carrie that I didn't want to ruin a perfect 10 ounce fillet cooked at a special 1200 degrees and mess with Mr. Cameron's steak perfection....Carrie completely understood....

Thank you so much Carrie !!! for treating my family so well and being so personable and Ocean's Club for another wonderful memory celebrating the passing of my dad, our birthdays, my kids pop and the celebration in-between heavy crying the passing of third generation of our family that really was behind our family's success to be able to come to the Oceans Club in the first place!! Thank you , Thank you, Thank you Ocean's Club and especially Carrie for a very important celebration!!!! Everything was so perfect!! Lastly, Carrie is a fantastic photographer for our family picture and as you can tell we will definitely be back to the Oceans Club to...

It's an experience, and an excellent one. My wife and I have been coming here for our anniversary for years, though it's been several years since we had the opportunity to do so (life, yo). But we decided to do a Valentine's dinner here and include our child. Not sure how that was going to play out, they are not the most adventurous person, being younger. First off, our service by Marcus and his squire Colton was excellent. This is expected perhaps of such a high end restaurant, but I'll say we were not disappointed in any way by the superb attention and professional skill that Marcus and Colton showed.

The atmosphere is just lovely. It doesn't get too loud (must be some tricks in how they've designed things to get the acoustics to be adequate because it was hoppin), it's bright enough without being too dark (I'm looking at your, The Top....I need to be able to see).

The drinks were great. I literally had the best Old Fashioned I've ever had in my life here. It's not a complicated drink, but it's done to perfection. Literally perfect.

We had scallops and steaks. Ocean Club has the best streak in Columbus, and you can argue with me if you want, but you'd be wrong. The chophouse corn was sublime for a side. Everything was very good. The worst thing I had was the twice cooked potato, and that's because it was "only" good, not amazing. We were very happy overall with everything we chose. We had to get some dessert and would additionally recommend the cheesecake and the chocolate torte.

Overall, we learned once again why we keep coming back. Price of course is in line with an amazing dining experience, but it's so worth it and is why we save this place for a special occasion.

Our special thanks to Marcus and Colton for taking such excellent care of us, for the kitchen staff for the excellent food,. the bar for the amazing drinks, and the front of house for handling the rush of check-ins and walks with aplomb.

Couldn't recommend Ocean Club more for a special occasion. Likely the best restaurant in Columbus due to the fact that they put it all...
