Ohgane Korean BBQ Concord — Restaurant in Concord

My family had a beautiful and heart-warming dining experience at Ohgane Korean BBQ on Sunday Night. Not only was staff curteous in serving the tasty and lovely looking food and seeing to our contentment throughout our meal, but they truly awed me with their kindness, compassion and helpfulness in a late and dirty situation afterwards. The restaurant was shutting down for the night and people were getting off work, yet remained to help my tearful daughter attempt to locate a blue plastic gum box holding earrings. We were so surprised that not only 1 but 4 staff, all ages, joined in to help in whatever way they could to narrow down the potential whereabout of this little girls box. The crew handed us gloves and lead us in the direction of the outside bins. From there they assisted, doting gloves and good thoughts while moving trash from one receptacle to the other until all the trash recepticles had been overturned. One or two young men actually climbed into the bin to help locate the collection of bags from the day. What kindness and great heroism if you ask us! We found the item, and though not in the trash, it really feels quite good knowing there are great people like your staff around who will go there with you and show they care even when the rest of the world may not! Please let them know and thank them for making the night a lot brighter and the world a caring place to live in!

This was our second time visiting Ohgane BBQ. To say this place was disappointing is an understatement. The popcorn chicken was soft. Like they took frozen popcorn chicken from Costco and microwaved it. Totally disgusting. We also ordered the spicy french fries and while the sauce was good, the fries were limp and pathetic.

For meats I will give them credit that the beef bulgogi was 9/10 but I don't know a single that can make bulgogi taste bad. The other meats were grisly, chewy, and fatty. It felt like they were serving the cheapest meats they could find to us. My wife loves Korean BBQ and eats more than I do and even she couldn't finish the meats we ordered.

The restaurant was also quite dirty. When they put fresh grills on, they would bubble with leftover meat from previous cooks. I'm not sure if this is normal, but I've never noticed it at other Korean BBQ places. I'll edit my review after we go to another Korean BBQ next week to see if this is normal. But it looked gross and dirty.

We were delivered the dishes other tables ordered multiple times. In total we received 5 dishes that we didn't order and the server was gone before we noticed. We were eating during a shift change so that may have contributed to it, but I need to document it since it hasn't happened to us at other places.

The food was okay. It's AYCE KBBQ. The meat isn't anything I'd tell my friends about. I wouldn't come here again for the food or the service.

The stars are really for the service. Our waitress was uncaring. We were sitting and had our banchans, and we just sat. We didn't get the menu yet. We had to wave someone down to get a menu. Mind you this is 7 on Sunday and the restaurant was still about half empty. Then she comes back in one minute to ask us what we want. We barely opened the one menu she gave us, not to mention for the two of us to read and discuss what we they have and what we should start off with.

The servers that don't take orders are rather inconsiderate and are just in a rush. They clang and toss dishes in their trays. They put dishes down on our table haphazardly. They rush us. There's no space on the table abd they just put it on the table and push other things on the table out of the way. They hit their dish cart into table next to us and our whole table Shook.

Everything is such a rush. The orders come out quick but it's such a turn off. Especially because the food isn't great. If I had to endure this borderline rude and inconsiderate service for amazing food, okay. But it's not, why make the effort to come here? Because there's a Joann's Superstore right next door.
