Edit: I came back in today and the owner kept his word and looked at the camera with me- which was very honest and kind of him. Did not have to actually take the time out his day to do that but he did. Many places don't care enough to actually make things right so mad respect.
These guys are awesome. Super down to earth and REAL people. They are willing to work it out with you- especially if you are reasonable and respectful.
They've always done a good job in the past and I have always been happy with their work. All employees are very kind as well. Will definitely be coming here in the future for future tints and any other jobs that are applicable.
This review would normally have been 5 stars... This place has always been down to earth, unpretentious, fair, and had solid customer service. The owner and the main employee, who has been working there forever, have always treated me very kindly and respectfully. I have had zero problem in the years I have frequented this place prior to yesterday.
However, my experience yesterday changed that. I always get my tint done here... 4 cars to be exact. I always ask for 5% all around - on all of the vehicles I have had tinted there. This time I asked for 5% on everything and then a shade lighter for the front... Apparently there was a misunderstanding between me and employee- which is fine- things like this happen. I can also admit mistakes but I am positive I never said 35% whatsoever.
Anyways- when I brought up that I had wanted the windows darker in the front- I was met with a defensive attitude and I was pretty much blamed because of what the computer/receipt said ( like no one has ever entered something into a computer wrong...) Also- I never had a printed out receipt- it was automatically sent to my phone so never had it in my hand to examine it well and spot the mistake in order to tell them there was a mistake. Furthermore- I did not even think to open the receipt on my phone because I did not have any reason to at that time....
I was also there for 4.5 hours (which is fine would rather have a quality job than a fast job) so I was tired and when confronted with blame instead of understanding- after sitting there patiently for so long and then having to defend what I believe to be true- did not feel good at all.
The owner told me he would look at camera footage for me and that made me feel better- but he left and never told me the outcome of that. I will say the owner was fair and said I could pay "whatever I felt was fair" (the other employee was not present when he said this) but then he left before my car was done and so then the other other employee ended up charging me $50 which was a apparently a discounted price. However- I feel I should have been able to chose what I wanted to pay (like the owner said) or at least treated more fairly and been given the benefit of the doubt had this happened. Had I been offered the choice rather than feeling like it was forced- I would have been more than happy to pay something. As that is the kind of person I am- and it is more about the principal than the money at the end of the day.
So I just paid as I did not want to argue anymore and I did not want to someone to suffer or not get paid if I did not pay. I also apologized for the misunderstanding and tried to be as gracious as possible as I try and treat people the way I would like to be treated- and to take care of any responsibility in the situation, but I do not feel this was reciprocated whatsoever.
I left with an extremely bad taste in my mouth. Which is too bad because I have never had any problem prior to this, whatsoever. I would be more than happy to work this out and come to an agreement that feels good to all involved. I hope my continued business is valued enough to...
Read moreGm electronics had very poor customer service, I came early excited about getting window tents for my Mercedes Benz, However I request for llumar window tents, its a life time tent, with no bubbles, over all a label name that's reliable for excellent tent of elegants. Although one man said we don't have that here, and owner said I will deal with her you have no idea what your talking about. Then he said yes we do have and, I repeat your sure then I said to him how much will that be, because I know place but busy, and I needed it done today if possible, however their is $150 out the door, then he repied we can do that for you. Then I said great and said well can I see samples he said yeah, I explain I wanted something lightly tented so the elegants of the car can remain, and he showed me one I said that look somewhat dark he replied we been doing this for many years, and several time a day, then I even show him on a car in the shop, he assure me he understand, he will get the job done 2hrs or less.
So I walk around while the job was being done, and came back sooner then two hrs. some guys were playing my music very loud in my car, while the guy were working on the tent, and it seem really dark such as limo tents, and very dirty looking, and I said this not what I ask for, and he said well put what I was told by front management, then I went back to him an he said this the lightest tent, and I said this not what we agreed clearly what I refuse to have, he argu with me saying well it shall light up, and the dirt was on my windows, so I said he layer it on top of dirt an its my fault, then he said well if done over it will ruin me defrost, and heating system, so I said how did you offer me a lifetime warranty if you will damage my car to repair, then he charged me 162.00 said well I have nothing else to say, I said an we agreed $150.00 this a sham I will never come back, and you cant even help with life time without ruin my car, when you lied in the begining about everything, they act careless as long as they were paid.
Then I left went to best guys on clayton Rd, Concord, Ca They were kind very helpful, they as well remove the tent without ruin my defrost, or heating system, gave me llumar tents with it label on everything from the from, and advertise in store, however I had to pay $295 for removal of Gm Electronics very bad decision of tents, and replacement price with the elegant llumar light tent I ask for, and I ask what color is this being removed they replied the dark est tent, such as limo tent, then also my rubber on door were cut from razor blad with Gm electronic, dirty, white bubbles, and un even cut tents and all this was notice right after work was complete, no remorse on there end are customer support, I was cheated and violated by their rude and...
Read moreWe brought our 24' RV here this past week to have the windows tinted - all 19 of them! They had tint on them but it was beginning to peel up & it had turned purple, so it was quite a job just to get off the old tint & glue. I had called around for estimates & GM quoted me the best estimated price over the phone. At first I thought the price was a bit high, but come to find out it was the best price out there, and then Basher offered to knock some off of that, so we feel the price was very fair. The guy who does the actual tinting - Victor - is the sweetest guy in the world, & also excellent at what he does. We thought we wanted a fairly light tint, but he showed us the differences with what a limo tint would look like as opposed to the lighter tint we thought we wanted.....& boy were we glad he knew his stuff cause it came out looking great! Who would believe that with 19 windows to do - & some practically laying on your back to get to - that every one of them would come out perfect? But they absolutely did, & we were extremely pleased. Both of our sons have come here for tinting on their classic cars - like a 1996 Impala - & one of them is so anal about his 'baby' that I knew when he chose this place to put his car in their hands, it had to be the best...& he was right. One other plus here - when I called around, the other difference was that G.M. was the only one to tell us that it could be done immediately - like the next day. The other 2 tinting places in Concord (I don't feel I need to mention names & bash them) - that I called balked about the job when they found out it was an RV (with 19 windows)....said things like 2-3 weeks to do it...if we were lucky. So GM was the only one that didn't make us feel like we were a 'pain in the ass job' to do. We've been self-employed folks for 40 years, and Victor & Basher treated us like I treat my own customers, - with respect & great service. Victor told us that a few of the windows took him 3 times to do it right, but he got to the very edges of each window perfectly, so his conscientiousness was much appreciated.
We'd highly recommend them for any job they can do, especially since service - & getting the job done right - is their #1 priority apparently. And Basher, if you read this, Victor deserves a raise! You'd best hang on to him & know you've got a gem in...
