Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Concord

Every time a friend get-together happens at Concord Mills, I am overjoyed by the sheer fact that Steak ‘n Shake is nearby, since that means THE UNHOLY ADDICTIVE MESS THAT IS FRISCO MELT is imminent and in my future. It’s likely the sauce (it’s ALWAYS the sauce). The melted cheese! The seasoned smashed patty! And the crispiness of that toast! …Wow, I need to stop talking myself into driving another two hours for a simple sandwich. 😭

For those lucky enough to live nearby (or maybe not so lucky, given the insanity of Charlotte traffic 💀), I hope you never take this sandwich for granted. I think I’ve tried Steak ‘n Shake’s butter burger years ago and that was super delicious (and I’m not even a burger girlie 😫). I also enjoy their matchstick fries and dipping them into the Frisco sauce cups (I about lost my mind when I realized sauce cups were available 😳 —even though they’re 25 cents, it felt worth it to me 🥲).

I haven’t had one of their milkshakes in a while, but I remember when they had cereal-themed shakes. Their Frosted Flakes milkshake was absolutely divine—please, pleeaassee bring cereal milkshakes back, Steak ‘n Shake Team!

One practical and less food-addled note: If eating inside, your receipt will have a QR code for drinks. Once they hand over your tray of food and cups at the counter, look towards your right. There is a QR code scanner to the left of the drink machine; scan your code there, and the drinks will be available to pour into your cup. Without the code, the machine will lock up.

Curiously, I’ve gone back for refills throughout my meal using the same QR code, so I’m not really sure why the security with the QR code… perhaps other guests have come in to abuse the drink machine? Or maybe that code imposes a time limit on the amount of refills one can get?

No idea, but still recommended overall for the Frisco Melt. 💖 (Kind of sad it’s not one of the default options in the “Recommended” section for this review, but oh well, I hope my love for this sandwich transcends Google Review analytics to anyone who reads these reviews. 😆✨) Will update with more Frisco Melt images in the future! 11/18/23 Extremely Disappointing Experience at Steak and Shake

I recently encountered the most appalling service from a manager name Riley at this location I have ever experienced. It is with great disappointment that I write this review to warn others about the terrible treatment I received.

Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted by a disinterested and unenthusiastic staff. However, the real nightmare began when I encountered the manager Riley. From the moment I approached him with a simple inquiry about my burger being incorrect, he displayed an attitude of complete indifference and rudeness. It was evident that he had no interest in assisting customers or providing a pleasant dining experience.

Not only was the manager unhelpful, but he also seemed to lack basic management experience. When I asked for a refund, he simply shrugged and said, "I don't offer refunds." This lack of professionalism and knowledge was truly disheartening.

Furthermore, the manager's behavior towards myself when I asked for refund due to the employee walking back to the counter with my sandwich open looking down at it while talking over it. Asking me what it was missing me, then proceeds to add the grilled onions placed it in the microwave and attempt to give me the same burger was equally appalling. He openly berated and belittled me in front of customers, creating an uncomfortable and hostile atmosphere. It was clear that his leadership style was one of intimidation rather than human.

To make matters worse, the food itself was subpar. The burger I ordered was incorrect and lacked any flavor. It was evident that the lack of care and attention to detail extended beyond just the manager's behavior.

Overall, my experience at this Steak and Shake restaurant was nothing short of a nightmare. The manager's horrible service, lack of knowledge, and disrespectful behavior towards me left a lasting negative impression. I strongly advise anyone considering dining at this establishment to think twice and seek out a more welcoming and professional environment elsewhere.

A group of us came here at a really busy time, there was a huge line of people at the door waiting to be sat and the people who were sitting were extremely upset and unwaited on. This was the first time I had ever been to a steak n' shake and I was honestly ready to leave as soon as I got in. After standing for 30 minutes we were sat (many tables were clearing because customers were leaving because they got tired of waiting), they took our drinks down. Well another 20 minutes went by and no one brought us our drinks. We stopped a different waitress and she said the person who was originally waiting on us was just standing there and never put it in so she brought us our drinks and free drys for the long wait. Turns out several people (including the cooks) walked out jecaise they were so busy and got mad stressed and just left. That was extremely unprofessional and many other workers went out to try and get them. They finally took our order (I guess because most everyone else ended up leaving) and after close to 30 more minutes they brought us our food. Mine was fine and I actually really enjoyed it but they messed up everyone else at my table. My sister at this point didnt even want to eat it. I didnt mind waiting because I understood it was a busy night and there was a huge event in the area but the staff was really unprofessional and didnt...
