Torchy's Tacos — Restaurant in Conroe

We dined in at this location for the first time last week. We frequent various Torchy’s locations depending on where we are, so knew what we wanted and expected consistency from our previous experience’s. The staff was friendly enough, took our order, and we sat ourselves. Tables were clean, restaurant was well lit, and the iced tea was ready. The ice machine must have been broken or something because the ice was just sitting in a bucket with a scoop next to the soda machine. Chips and queso were delicious! We love the way they top it with a bit of diablo sauce, cilantro, and spoonful or guacamole! So yummy! The portion of chips they provide, however, seems to keep getting smaller, but they were fresh, just wish we had more. Not too big of a deal, but I guess either this location, or maybe Torchys has changed, but they put the sauce directly on the taco. Which would’ve been fine except I asked for different sauce when I ordered and they didn’t ring it or put it on the taco. I also ordered the trailer park trashy, it came normal. They young man who brought the food back did take it back to the kitchen for me and they corrected it, but they just took the lettuce off and added queso. Again, no big deal for me, but some people might have allergies to lettuce (I have a family member who is) and this didn’t seem like the best approach. Ultimately, I did get what I ordered but had to ask more than one person. Still love Torchys and will likely return to this location when we’re in the area! From the moment I walked into Torchy’s Tacos, I knew I was in for a treat. The ambiance was lively and welcoming, perfectly setting the stage for a fantastic dining experience.

The menu was an impressive showcase of tacos, each with its unique twist that promised something exciting. I opted for the “Trailer Park” taco, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The perfectly fried chicken, topped with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese on a soft flour tortilla, was a flavor explosion. The “Diablo” sauce added the right amount of heat that tickled the palate without overpowering the other ingredients.

However, what truly set this visit apart was the exceptional service provided by Katia Leyva. Katia went above and beyond to ensure our meal was perfect. Her attention to detail, from ensuring our orders were accurate to her recommendations on the menu, made our dining experience truly memorable. She was attentive without being intrusive, and her friendly demeanor made us feel genuinely cared for.

Torchy’s Tacos not only served up some of the best tacos I’ve ever had but thanks to Katia, they also provided an unparalleled level of customer service. I left with a satisfied belly and a smile on my face, knowing very well I would be back.

How hard is to make ONE taco? I specifically asked not to get a taco with old shrimp on but what do I get, A TACO WITH OLD SHRIMP ON IT. you could clearly see that it was some reheated shrimp. The shrimp was very dark & extra crispy looking. I took the taco directly to the manager with big eyes. I told her that I did not want old shrimp. Her response was the extra cabbage slaw makes it soggy. That was not what I was referring too. I said I do not want my shrimp reheated So she goes to the back and remakes it for a 2nd time. I get to my car pour this sauce on the taco only to smell that’s it a corn tortilla when I asked for flour. I take it back in and this time I take it to a different manager that goes to the back for a third attempt. The manager with big eyes and nasty attitude asked what was wrong with it and I told her it was supposed to be on flour but you put it on corn. I stated that’s what was clearly on the bag and she replied I didn't have the bag BUT you had the whole taco in your hand before you remade it. Attention to detail if you’re in a manager’s position. She gave me what she wanted to give me. So the 3rd taco they brought me more dark reheated shrimp which at that time I requested a refund.
