Pizzalley's on St. George — Restaurant in Contiguous United States

Absolutely amazing! Every time we visit st Augustine we make sure to eat here for dinner sometimes even lunch too. Their pizza is amazing (and I'm from new York so saying that means something lol), the pot roast is delicious as well as their chicken parm. Highly recommend to anyone in the area and is looking for some good old fashioned Italian food instead of that crap that olive garden serves. The only downfall is everyone knows how amazing the food is so expect a bit of a wait. The longest I have waited was around an hour but we had a big party with us so its understandable that we had to wait for a bigger table that unfortunately wasn't very big so it was kind of tight. But all that aside, the atmosphere is great, the servers are on point (only messed up my order one time out of the countless tines I have been there) and delicious food that reminds me of Sunday dinner as a kid! And you can't go wrong with their happy hour specials! I stumbled across this diamond by accident because they were giving samples of pizza out. What I thought really made it something special was how its a standard pizzeria in the front but if you walk down a narrow walk way and through a covered outdoor area there is the formal restaurant in the back. Its always something my family and myself look forward to going to any time we visit. Even when I posted on the St Augustine Facebook group asking the locals where is the best Italian restaurant (silly me thinking of trying somewhere else) and this place won hands down which was just a reminder of how much we love...

Was just visiting for the day. Caught the Trolley to explore. Got off at St. George Street, walked around a bit, before deciding to grab a bite to eat.

I walked up, what im assuming, was the back of the restaurant. Apparently you're supposed to know to go inside to be seated, but I did not, so i stood on the patio deck for a good 5 minutes. Within those 5 minutes I was passed by 4 times, by a waiter and a waitress, no word or even eye contact my way.

I decided to walk inside and there I was greeted by the seater. She sat me, and there I said for 20 MINUTES before someone finally realized I hadn't been waited on.

The waiter apologized for the wait, cool thank you. I ordered my food and drink all at the same time since I had more than enough time to look over the menu.

Food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the crab cakes smothered in sautéed mushrooms and peppers, coated in a roasted pepper and garlic sauce.

However, I was not checked up on for the ordinary, "how is everything"... instead, he brought me a refill of my drink, which I didn't even want, but asked him to put it in a to-go cup instead.

My check was FINALLY brought to me after my table had been cleared for 5 minutes. I immediately put my card in the folder, and waited ANOTHER 20 MINUTES, before my waiter finally took my check back. I literally almost walked out without paying, because I clearly saw my waiter talking to one of the cooks.

Moral of the Story, your employees need to be trained on top of the line Customer Service,...

I used to love this place.. I’ve been coming here for years and would always bring my out of town guests. One of my biggest pet peeves is being told where I can and cannot sit when I go out to spend my money at a restaurant. Tonight I decided to bring my dad who is visiting from out of state. Keep in mind that I drive from ormond beach FL about an hour away. I wanted to sit in a comfortable spot, where people aren’t standing over me head as I’m trying to enjoy my meal. The host had told us that we cannot sit in a certain section because they closed it off. I then went to the manager at the front and expressed my concerns and he told me that unfortunately that section is closed, I told him that I just drove an hour and wanted to sit in a comfortable area.. he offered me a less desirable area near the bathrooms. Then dismissed me and made me feel that he didn’t care that I just drove an hour to eat at the restaurant that he manages. I always say you never forget how someone makes you feel. I will never forget this treatment and I will never return nor will I ever recommend this restaurant to any friends or family or even tourists. I work in customer service and I never tell my customers NO! I always find a way to accommodate and make my customers feel welcome!!!! Sorry you just lost a...
