I ordered and paid for a Mother’s Day cake in advance on 5/4 to pick up this Saturday 5/9 at 5:00pm. I currently live in Lubbock, TX and couldn’t make it down for the holiday because I work as a nurse and have been quarantining myself from my family for their safety. So I had my sister-in-law pick the cake up today so she could take it to my moms house tomorrow. She pulled up at 4:53pm to a line that was wrapped around the building, past Samuels Diamonds! I told her to call because I had already paid and surely she wouldn’t have to wait in line for an order that was supposed to be ready. Her and I called the business multiple times and and were only met with a busy signal-or it would ring and then hang up. So I asked if she would wait in line until she saw an employee. She waited in line for 30 minutes! During that time only three people had their orders filled. Eventually an employee came out and my sister-in-law asked if there was any way she could pick up my online order and the employee told her that all the people waiting in line we’re waiting for online orders! When the employee was asked if my cake order was ready, she stated “we’ve had a high number or orders and are working as fast as we can...”, meaning that my order along with many other weren’t even ready yet!! So I told my sister to just leave, because she had to pick up my brother from his job at 6:00pm. I understand that this is a hard time for businesses, especially with the reopening, but don’t advertise so much if you can’t meet the demand of the customers! And communicate with your customers by giving some advanced warning that their orders will not be ready at the time agreed upon. I’ll think twice before ordering something from this establishment for holidays and events. I just hope they’ll answer their phone sometime this week because I cannot go in person and would like a full refund for my order that was not filled.
Update: They called me at 10:15pm last night and told me that my cake was now ready, but that it did not have the decorations on top that I paid for because they ran out. I tried to get someone to come pick it up for me, but everyone was already asleep, so I just told her to go ahead and refund my order. If they knew they would be baking and selling cakes way past their closing time they should have called their customers and given them a heads up. If they told me my cake would be ready at 10 instead of the agreed upon time of 5:00pm then I could have made arrangements to have it picked up before hand. I appreciate them reaching out, but this was still an...
Read moreGreat tasting but poor customer service. The first time I had to wait outside in the heat for 40min for a prepackaged box. The second time they wouldn't let me place an order over the phone, so when I went to pick up they refused to serve me, since it was close to closing and I didn't place the order ahead of time. I was looking to purchase the prepackaged box that is stocked right there at the counter. Not sure why they could not hand me one of the boxes that was right there, but could if I had ordered over the phone. I will update the review if things change, but for now I will be going else where. Update, customer service did get back with me by email. I decided to give them another try. Third visit, once again, very disappointed. Great cakes when you can actually get them. I was told that the presorted bundtinis I was requesting were not being offered at that location anymore. The packages are listed on their website. When I told the cashier, she told me that they had them but ran out. I asked her if it was just that day or forever. She said until next year, but other locations still have them. Then I was told, it would be a 30min wait for a nonpresorted 12 pack of bundtinis (not even with the flavors I picked from the website). 3...
Read moreSuper disappointed in my recent visit! I have been a loyal customer for a while now. Recently made a purchase “online” (didn’t know there is a $2.49 fee for ordering online) for my daughters birthday. She wanted a pink Peony (added $7) on her cake so I placed the order online. I know I chose a pink one but for whatever reason it showed I ordered a cream one (didn’t even know they came in cream). I check out the cake which is nicely wrapped in cling wrap and notice the cream peony sitting on top. I was positive I ordered pink so I went back to the shop to ask if they could switch it to pink. Spoke to the “trainee” and the person in charge and she denied my request to change out the top, non edible, non touched cream peony. She said I would have to buy another one. I can understand if this was an edible part of the cake but not being able to switch it out just seems ridiculous to me and those whom I’ve shared this experience with. Additionally as a long time customer, I feel that switching out a $7 peony shouldn’t have been that big of a deal for a...
