We are in Corvallis a lot for sports so we decided to try this place. We have been here probably 6 times with large groups spending 100+ every time. The first few times we were here service was slow but food was worth the wait! This last week we went on a Tuesday and they were out of food items we wanted, not a big deal we ordered something different. We went again that Friday and we had the worst service! The waitress was very slow, yes it was Friday but not a lot of people were there. We sat down at our “normal” table ordered drinks and 15 min in the bartender came to ask us to move tables because they were setting up for karaoke, it was rather rude. When they set up they literally push you out of way and move everything! The only table that wasn’t being moved we sat at. Under the table was dirty with napkins and food, again they weren’t busy on the restaurant side as we were the only group down there. As I order I am being told they are out of tots, then out of sidewinders, so fries it is. We were asked what sauce we wanted for our wings but then were told we would be charged for every sauce. Ok at this point you ask us to move tables, your out of food, and we are being charged for something that should come with the wings, the best option is to leave. We ask for a manager and we get the bartender that originally asked us to move tables, we are told she’s in charge of “front of the house” we tell her our concerns. She says they do their ordering on Mondays and they ran out of tots/sidewinders, remember we went on a Tuesday and they were out. Maybe ordering issues? Then we are told they started charging 2 months ago for sauces. We have never been charged extra anytime we have been in. She tells us the owner wants them to start karaoke at 7:30 instead of 8. We could not get another number for a different manager so a review is where we are at! Apparently they would rather push repeat customers out to set up for karaoke. Unfortunately we really liked this place but will not be back. BWW is right across the street and the servers...
Read moreThis was my first time at this restaurant and I gave it a poor rating for the following reasons.
First, the bartender kept trying to get rid of the foam as he poured beer from the tap in to the glass. He would dump out the foam, fill the glass with more beer and foam, dump off the foam and each time wipe down the sides of the glass with his ungloved hands. This was done maybe 5-6 times. Before serving the beer he sprayed water from a plastic bottle over the sides of the glass, but failed to dry the sides of the glass before serving the beer.
Second, the service was erratic. The four entrees were delivered at different times, therefore we did not start eating together. There was a lapse of at least 5 min between entrees. The waitress had to be reminded to bring our additional food requests. Also sometimes she just dumped the food on the middle of the table.
Third, the quality of food was variable. The breakfast item, biscuits, bacon, hash brown, ~3 tbs gravy, unmelted cheese and a single piece of charred bacon was not at all appealing. The chili was very good, chicken wings were excellent and steak dinner was also good.
It was the beer and bartender, the breakfast item and a lackadaisical waitress that made for my poor rating. No excuse for being overwhelmed as there were four customers at the time we were there. Bad nights happen and unlucky for us it was one...
Read moreDropped by on a Friday night with my wife, fresh off from a 13 hour shift. Walked in, found a nice looking spot near the front door to sit, wife sat down. I turned to sit, and promptly was asked if we were hunting for something to eat. I was relieved to hear that we were so quickly seen to, because we were famished. The wife, and I quickly, and happily stated that, "Yes we were!", and met with a very quickly, and attitude changed, we don't have anything!!. We both looked at her, and then one another, "oh dangit", I'd stated. The individual made certain to go back to some busy work, without trying to check if we'd like anything else. As I was keeping the smile running, and regain a base of conversation, peered up at us with several glances, with what I would describe as "sneers of irritated dismissal". I motioned to my wife that we didn't seem to be welcome here, so she got up for us to turn, and leave. I had one last turn to look, and even then I received one more glance of "disapproval". I had'nt known of any other time, or place in this area, to have been given such a sensation for trying to get a bite to eat. I asked my wife, "do you think it's our scrubs?". My wife said, "I'm not sure, I'm tired, I'll just have a hotdog when we get home to the coast". I was a...
