I apologize in advance for the long review but after my experience I feel the need to make the public aware- the food I was served made me sick, and most definitely doesn't comply with food safety guidelines and standards!!!!
After driving approximately 200 miles I began to get hungry. Since it was approximately 2am, McDonald's was the only restaurant open so I went into the app to find a 24 hour location. The closest 24-hour location was this restaurant, which was almost 10 miles away; despite the fact that I was traveling a major interstate! I was exhausted from being awake for over 36 hours and reluctant to add the 15 minute detour but my stomach insisted for me to find food. By the time I placed my order I was 5 minutes from the their location ; therefore I immediately checked the "I'm here button", with the hope it would decrease my wait time. BOY was I WRONG!!!
Upon arrival, per app instructions, I proceeded to the drive-thru and waited at the speaker to give them my code. I waited and waited and waited but was met with silence. I began to question if it was a 24 hour location. This was due to the fact that it appeared quite dark and dead; however, I recalled that I noticed a McDonald's worker standing by the entrance smoking. After some time passed I decided to proceed to the 1st window but I didn't see anyone. At the 2nd window I could see workers but they ignored me. This lead me to continue to the 3rd window but nobody was there! At this point I am extremely aggravated so I backed my truck back to the 2nd window and sat until a lady finally opened the window. I don't recall her exact words but she gave me the impression that I shouldn't be there! I held my phone up and explained that I placed a mobile order; then I apologized for being at the window and recounted the events that led me to wait there. She asked me to wait for a moment and shut the window. When she returned, stated "they were busy making burritos and had been unaware of both the mobile order and my presence in the drive-thru"; then she asked for my code. As I gave her my code, a tall blonde lady walked behind her and I overheard her state " I didn't have my headset on!" The lady who took my code informed me that there would be an additional wait!
Finally she came to the window and handed the order out. I requested to add 3 cups of Mac sauce to my order. I apologized that it wasn't on my mobile order and explained that there wasn't a way to order them online. She rudely stated, "I can't add them and I can't take an order at this window; we don't have a cash register here- you will have to pull around and go back through the drive-thru and place an additional order." I asked, "If I do this, will someone come to the speaker for me to place my order?" She rudely replied, "Yes!" Before I went to pull around, she asked, " Did you already pay for your mobile order?" This seemed quite weird to me but I explained that you can't place and order through the mobile app without payment. She acted as if she didn't believe me and questioned a co-worker. I proceeded to follow her instructions to order my Mac sauce and, paid $2.88. After I received it I left without checking my food, because I was anxious to continue our trip home and finally get some sleep.THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE!!!!
As I pulled on the interstate, I began to eat my fries. The first bite of fries I notice they were cold and hard as a rock! Now, I have received and ashamedly eaten older fries before but they were never rock hard! Since I was starving I assumed, I had received a few over cooked fries and attempted a few more bites before I began to feel sick to the point that I couldn't even try my sandwich!
Since it was after 3am I decided I would wait to contact the store management team later in the day. I attempted to call this store several times but no-one would answer the phone! At this point, I still don't feel good and am worried about the public safety; especially considering the food I had eaten clearly breaks food...
Read moreIf I could give this location 0 stars I would. The amount of unprofessionalism & disrespect the employees give customers is ridiculous. I have had a previous incident with this location YEARS ago, but my cousin wanted to go to this location. I can say confidently I will never return to this location, & I don’t think anyone else should waste their time either. This morning we placed a mobile order at 10:25. We were sitting in the drive through because it’s raining & figured it would be better than having someone run outside for curbside pickup. When we got to the window it was 10:33. I understand completely that breakfast stops at 10:30 & I would have been fine if they would have been more helpful. Instead they told us they wouldn’t fill the order, gave no solutions, & asked us to come inside. Once inside we weren’t acknowledged & had to ask for someone to help us. When asked to speak with a manager, no one went to get one. There was an African American woman with black & pink hair who appeared to be the manager or someone in charge, but she was very disrespectful towards us. We asked for a refund & she stated it could be done in the app. When we asked for help she said “not today” turned around & started to mumble under her breath. When I asked for her name she got nasty & said “I am not telling you anything.” We also never found a way to request a refund on the app. We may be missing it, but when we asked for help they all continued to say we could do it on the app & offered no help. We finally left but decided to call in hopes that a manager would pick up. A female answered the phone said she was the manager, and when I asked for her name she refused. I could also hear them talking and laughing in the background about not giving us information. They definitely think I couldn’t hear them, but I could. When we asked for the corporate number she said “it’s on the bottom of your receipt” we told her we never received a receipt since we didn’t even get food & she just kept repeating herself about it being on the receipt. Finally when she did give us the number she read it so fast that no one would have been able to write it down. She finally repeated herself & then hung up before I could say another word. I’ve worked in the food industry, I’ve been a manager in the food industry, & I would NEVER treat a customer the way I was treated today. I believe that the store definitely needs training on proper customer service & probably even management changes.
I hope someone sees this review & decides to make a change. If I was in charge of this location or owned it I would be so embarrassed with how my employees act & treat...
Read moreHi I go to mcdonalds daily I spend lunch breakfast and dinner most of the week there !!! I went 1/16/25 to get breakfast as I was ordering i noticed a man asking to speak with manager he stated he had been waiting outside in his car for 15 minutes and he was late from break he came in to ask the manager to please intervene he seemed to be a little upset with is understandable at that time a young skinny black girl came up with no name tag and the man trying to explain to her what was going on she with no reason started giving the customer directives telling him were to stand and what to do she was being very rude to a paying customer that keeps the doors open she started yelling and hollering at this customer along with 2 other employees she made to choice to not try and help the man instead she handed him 8 bucks n told him to leave !!! At that point he told her he had paid 12 bucks for the food she said she didn't care to leave so at that point he went got his recipe to show her n she refused to refund his money even with proof I was very upset after seeing this !!!! She called the cops on that man after he was shorted money and wasted 30 mins trying to get service it was horrid the staff at the covington by location are all very unprofessional they have no business being managers dealing with people she could have helped a disgruntled customer that had a right to be upset instead she went off on him and they even messed my order up but I was afraid to ask for a refund on two meals I didn't order but got charged for I feel I would have been treated very bad like that man so I was out 10 bucks myself I was able to give the other meals to a homeless guy but that store is out of line I spend a lot of money there n I am afraid to be treated badly so I recommend no one goes to this store cuz if something is wrong instead of them making it rite they will gang up on you rob you and call the cops if you want a refund it's very unprofessional managers of that location need to fix this very bad problem if a store manager wants to talk to me...
