I have visited China Dragon almost every week since late 2021 and by now have tried almost all their dishes!
I will say this is one of the best Chinese takeouts in Downtown Dallas at least, especially if you're looking for some spicy food! The service is also the best you could get, and they tailor the food to your liking.
The intial few weeks, I started with the Curry Chicken and White Rice which quickly became by favorite. I kept hearing about the Fried Rice, and tried the plate, and was instantly hooked (this tastes different and way better than the fried rice in the combo). The Lo Mein was even better! For 1.50 extra you get extra protein. The Moo Goo Gai Pan was an immediate answer to my craving for the IndoChinese style Chinese Chopsuey we get back at home (sans the crispy noodles).
You can also ask for less veggies if ur not a fan, and oh unlike what others have written below, just ask and you will be given a spoon; I get one every single time I order rice. Also, spice levels are legit, if you try 10 and you're not used to spice you will regret it (trust me, I'm Indian).
My favorites now would be: Beef Lo Mein with extra beef (get the extra beef it's worth it!) Shrimp Fried Rice plate/bowl (different from combo fried rice) Curry Chicken and White Rice combo (stick with white rice for this one) Green beans and Chicken combo (same on this , white rice) Jalapeno Chicken combo (white rice or fried rice) Moo Goo Gai Pan combo (I usually substitute rice with noodles here)
Only complaints I've ever had are that fountain soda is no longer available due to the shortage of CO2 cylinders (but you get soda cans and some really nice Sweet/Unsweet Tea), and sometimes, since the food is so hot, the inside of the styrofoam box melts and gets stuck to the bottom layer of food (common across most Asian fast food joints due to the high temp of the wok).
Typing this as I am chowing down on some food from there (which I went and got on a holiday coz it's š„). If you can't find it, it's in the basement of the Plaza of the Americas/Marriott building. Easiest way in is using the ramp going down on Pearl St. Counter is right opposite the...
Ā Ā Ā Read more1/10 for me.
They got this odd ball way of ordering/paying but i digress.
Ordered a double entrƩe with orange chicken and steamed rice. The steamed rice was super dry to the point where they didn't even stick together, its impossible to eat it with a fork, since they do not offer spoons.
The orange chicken did not have any flavor oddly enough. It didn't taste like anything except burnt food. In the image you can see some dark spots, where that is something that was in the fryer for way to log and got pulled up with my chicken. Sadly enough all my chicken tasted burned even tho it was not. aside from the fact the chicken did not taste like anything it was a waste of money.
The only real good thing was the egg roll which i am sure is not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTh customer service was very pleasant and helpful. However the shrimp fried rice is literally all rice. I literally could count the shrimp sitting directly on top of the rice which was fine it was the fact that the rice costs almost $10 by itself and only had 5-6 shrimp in it. I think thatās just horrible and the sesame chicken was ok I guess. I donāt too much care for it. Itās my first time ever visiting China Dragon and Iām not totally disappointed because itās not nasty or anything but it couldāve been way better. The cashier was very nice though. I will say this though: this meal was NOT worth $17.38 I donāt even have the appetite to finish it. The chicken has a...
