I'm just starting out with per scales and hope my experience will be better than it has so far. I asked a few basic questions and the staff were not to good about answering. For example it's online program but the dress code says in person and I couldn't get clarification. I also tried to do prework and the person was quite unhelpful to let me know where the badge is which was not covered in the orientation interview that was already over an hour.
The main improvement besides this is I had waited a whole week after the interview. I know the person. Is busy but it could be helpful to have an email saying they are getting to you as I felt I had been declined.
My main concern was what the other reviewer said was that with a certificate it can still be hard to get work because you need years of experience which ive already had trouble with. There's not much job training so im going to keep trying but I hope my remaining time in the program can be more positive and less frustrating!
I hope I can finish the program!! Its 8 hr long plus maybe 2 or 3 hr to study homework. I basically feel i barely have time for the gym or grocery store. The only reason I'm trying so hard is that it's so impossible to get a job and there's not much job training.
The other thing I don't like is it is overkill to have to have slack, canvas, emails every day and class 8 hr a day. I wish it could be all done in canvas so I don't have to look at things multiple times I day. I spend as little time as possible on slack so I probably won't see a message!! I feel I hardly read the emails also!
I would consider taking the pt class but I would need to see an improvement in the program, and have appropriate time to do the...
Read moreI can’t thank Katie Chang and Per Scholas enough for the incredible opportunity to be part of their program something I had been hoping and waiting for since January. What makes this journey even more special is the support and kindness I received from Katie Chang.
Katie Chang went above and beyond to guide me through every step of the process. I still remember how she personally called me, explained the procedures in such a clear and patient manner, and reassured me during moments of doubt. Her encouragement and thoughtful communication made a world of difference, she made me feel seen, valued, and supported. I’ll always be grateful for her role in helping me finally secure a seat in the course. People like her are the heart of what makes Per Scholas such a meaningful place.
Even with years of prior work experience, I found it challenging to restart my career here in the U.S. But Per Scholas gave me hope. Their programs are not just about skill-building — they are about building people up, reigniting confidence, and opening doors that many of us have long been knocking on.
I highly recommend Per Scholas to anyone who’s been waiting for a real chance to grow and succeed in the tech world. This is not just a training program — it’s a community that cares deeply and works tirelessly to change lives.
Thank you once again, Katie Chang and the entire Per Scholas team. You are making a true difference, and I am...
Read moreI have yet to finish my program, but I will say that this has been a life saving opportunity. I have been through soo much financially and even thinking about pursuing certifications out of my pocket, gave me a migraine. This bootcamp training has opened up the opportunity for me to finally get a taste for success!
Tips for prospective learners: Yes it's 8hrs a day + studying + labs (it will be hundreds of hours put in by the end of it all), this sacrifice & commitment to your success is worth it.
Now because it is an intense bootcamp, don't expect to study like you did in college, procrastinating, cramming, and even reading too much ain't worth it.
Be resourceful and collaborate with you classmates! It helps lighten the load when everyone pitches in and you learn a lot in the process.
Don't be afraid to ask for help, the team is truly a learner support team and they are willing to help out the best they can.
Apply to jobs as soon as you get your resume reorganized, we all know the job market sucks so get started as soon as possible!
