Now this is where the rubber meets the road! Let me introduce you to Mendocino Farms.
Mendocino Farms on McKinney Avenue is a fast casual sandwich, salad, and soup concept who's goal is to match quality ingredients with top notch service!
From the time you step foot in the door, your experience is the main focus. Honey Oak wood tables, floor to ceiling windows, and an immaculate dining room offers both conversation and tranquility. Combined with fresh, whole ingredients and a cultured spin on deli classics gives you far more than just what's on the menu.
Robin the manager made it a point to engage with every guest. Chating, making suggestions, and really taking the time to make sure that every customer, is a repeat customer!
The Not So Fried Chicken sandwich is a perfect example of how Mendocino Farms spins a typically unhealthy sandwich into something both good to and for you! Sliced chicken breast with crunchy Mendo krispies, herb aioli, mustard pickle slaw, tomatoes, golden bbq sauce, and pickled red onion on fresh baked ciabatta is everything you want without the grease! The chicken was juicy and well seasoned, lightly breaded in toasted Quinoa to give you the crunch without all the calories! The Vegan Bahn Mi was a vegetarian delight! Pickled vegetables, baked, marinated tofu, and a fresh herbs and vegan mayo made this sandwich drool worthy! I had the Chicken Caprese on GF Bread(IYKYK) and it was beautiful! Sliced chicken breast, fresh buffalo mozzarella, basil pesto, balsamic vinegar, and marinated red peppers. It was balanced and hearty, with flavors that complimented each other. I could not stop eating it! Their seasonal Peach and Proscuitto sandwich was summer on a roll! Juicy sweet peaches, paired with salty prosciutto, roasted almonds, hot citrus honey and peppery arugula on a toasted sesame roll was a true culinary delight! It hit all the notes. Sweet, satly, slightly spicy, savory and full of texture that is often missing in an average sandwich. Even the corn and hatch chilli soup was robust and bright!
If you are looking for food that is good for and to you, only to be out done by the customer service? Stop in and dine with Robin and the the crew at Mendocino Farms. You're guaranteed to get...
Read moreOrdered the Pink Lady Beets & Goat Cheese Salad with the dressing on the side.
They served me a first salad that was missing the dressing on the side, went up and asked for it, the guy who brought it to the table triple checked that I definitely didn’t get the dressing on the side, like why would I lie about that?
After getting the dressing, I realized my salad was missing the beets and the goat cheese (lol!) went up again to get it fixed. Lady behind the counter was super nice!
Same guy brought my 2nd salad out and proceeds to tell me how to order this salad in the future thinking i didn’t want the goat cheese tossed in ? and that it should be told specifically upon ordering. I had to reiterate to him that there was in fact no beet or goat cheese at all on the salad and that I didn’t change much about how the salad was prepared outside of asking for the dressing on the side. - it’s annoying that I have to even explain myself on this…like bruv just set the salad down.
While enjoying the 2nd salad, I found this giant core in it picture below. I think the guy was over the fact that they kept messing up and didn’t even apologize for the giant core. He just walked away as I was mid sentence.
Not a great experience compared to the Preston hollow and legacy west location. Beware of getting gaslit and mansplained about how to order a salad.
Salad was good though outside of...
