The Fairmont hotel has been open since 1976 . It sits on Akard st. down town Dallas its a up scale hotel with alluring atmosphere inviting and friendly has a bar restraunt called the Pyrymid. The menu at the bar has a variety of great specialty drinks . There dinning menu is called the Farm House variety of 44 burgers farm burgers and the 38 different greens and entrees and a desert menu that you could say it deserves its name Sweet Endings . as l was sitting at bar out of no where amanda manager of the restaurant came over to me directly with a trey of two different deserts let me choose one of my choice .well let me let you in on why she did as l sat at the bar l was asking the bar tenders all kinds of questions about the hotel and that l was a Google reviewer on Google maps and that's why I'm asking as to there reaction of oh really how cool then they became very curious of where was l from what do l for a living and I was honest and l got on my phone and started to start my review and as l was typing they kept looking and just peeked there interest that l was there to review them right then because l kept typing and they. Knew l was I made it to were they could see as l was typing and looking at thec menus and looking at all of them thinking put my phone down for awhile impressed that l was actually took what l do seriously and with intent thought to myself let me see if this makes more of an impact on many levels doing it like l was the Google reviewer of Dallas looks that goes a long way that people forget about the little details no matter the reason because that's when the manager came up with the trey of the deserts and made me feel she did it to make an impression because when she came straight to me first to say we had these deserts left over we'd like to try one of our two favorite deserts she described them to me and l said how special and that l would love to try l happily picked the lemon tart buerlie and how impressed l was she smiled as if we both knew we had played each others hand and for a brief moment it was a respect. That was given both ways as l sat there eating my divine desert and thinking Yes impacts on perception. Done the right way made me one How good it felt to appreciate every bite of my lemon tart taste last forever . l learned how to become a better Google reviewer because l took a chance and now that's why the Fairmont not only a fantastic hotel but a believer in how serious they saw we are here and care about giving Dallas a place that stands out and get to tell special stories like these thanks to Google maps and reviews To Be True To You My Moto !...
Read moreI bought tickets Dining in the Dark to surprise my husband with a different experience for his 60th birthday. I read views and thought this would a great surprise. I read the instructions before the date of the event. We got there early (20 mins as per instructions) and was told we wouldn't be seated until 5 mins before event was suppose to start ("6pm"). The event started at around 645pm. It seemed a little unorganized. We were seated and donned our blindfolds. We received the appetizer. Then came the 30 to 40 minute wait for our main course. It took so long my husband became in- patient and lift his blindfold (because we could hear the sounds of utensil on the plates). He saw everyone in our area eating except us. We both raised our hand (as per instructed if we need assistance). We both asked where our meal was. The staff member Said your plates are on the way. We received our main course about to 10 minutes later. The staff who served us said "be careful the plate is hot". NO IT WAS NOT!!! The meal was room temperature, at best Not hot nor warm. The meal was bland but tasty/edible (table had no salt or pepper on it). After the main course we were allowed to remove our blindfolds. We did a Q and A session with the Chef. Then we put our blindfolds back on for dessert. The dessert was not worth the wait. At this point we paid our tab and left. This experience was VERY LACK LUSTER!!! Our experience was NOT WORTH IT!!! My entire cost (ticket $76.00 x2, Ticket fee of $19.00 x2, the automatic food gratuity $10.00 x2, the 2 drinks we order $24.00 and the automatic 20 % gratuity on the check. Total over $250.00) You do the math. NOT WORTH IT!!! I am/We are VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! A WASTE OF a Beautiful...
Read moreA surprisingly good time! I went to Dining in the Dark at the Pyramid prepared to not like many aspects of it. I did not want to wear a blindfold, I wanted to see what I was eating, I did not want to spill my food on my clothes. The entrance at the Fairmount is well staged to transition you from light to dark. By the time you are at the table, you realize you are really going to be eating in the dark. Instantly, you feel out of your comfort zone. You do not feel silly at all wearing a blindfold, because no one can see you. Then you start dealing with the unfamiliarity of finding your drink, your plate and your silverware without your eyes. The wait staff is very helpful in letting you know when and where they place the many different items that are brought out. Remarkably soon, you become very comfortable using your silverware. The best part is that all of the food and the wine and whisky pairings are great. Everyone was having a lot of fun discussing what we were eating and drinking. Dining in the dark highlighted how the the taste of each wine changed as you ate the paired course. When the meal was over, we then met with the chef and the sommelier and peppered them with questions for at least thirty minutes about how and why they chose the pairings. I left very happy, with a clean shirt and a new appreciation and...
