We’ve really enjoyed being members of the YMCA. It’s such a welcoming and family-friendly environment. One of the highlights of our experience has been the Sharks Swim Team and, in particular, working with Coach Hector.

Coach Hector has been phenomenal. He’s patient, professional, and incredibly supportive. My child needed a bit of extra assistance at the start, and Coach Hector went above and beyond to meet her where she was. He worked with us to build her confidence in the water, and his encouragement has made a lasting difference. It’s clear he truly cares about the kids, not just as swimmers but as individuals.

And a special shoutout to Ms. Suzette, who helped my kiddo make the team. She has a real gift for knowing exactly what a child needs to push themselves while also listening to their body. Her high expectations and structured approach helped my daughter grow in both skill and discipline.

The place is not family oriented. I was told one thing, but they said something else once I looked at my payment. I was going through something and I was very upset I ask if I could speak to someone so I can make an appt to come in at another time to cancel my membership, because i had bad news and was not mentally in a condition to come. The staff was rude and hung the phone up in my face when I ask him to please be shut up(because he wouldn't let me speak) long enough for me to explain why I couldn't come in and he hung the phone up in my face. Beware of T-Boone Pickens YMCA. I just had a conversation with the customer service rep at this location this morning and was very unsatisfied with my experience. I was calling to add a dependent to my account and also switch our home-base YMCA to the Richardson location along-with other pertinent questions. He was rude, short, and cut me off as I was speaking and literally hung up the phone at the end of our conversation without saying thank you, good-bye, have a nice day or nothing.
