Oh wow! What a treat! My daughter and her friends introduced me to The Playwright Irish Pub in downtown Dallas. Loved the atmosphere. The chandeliers are beautiful as you will see in the pictures.
We ate lunch there around 1 before we headed to the DMA. We did have to wait a few minutes before we were waited on, however was ok. She was so friendly. Thinking the menu was just barefood I was pleasantly surprised. I had a turkey bacon sandwich on wheat sourdough with a cup of potato soup. The hearty sandwich had real turkey slices and not turkey sandwich meat and was delicious. The cup of potato soup had cheese, was topped with bacon pcs and had LG pieces of potatoes. It was soooo good. Kelly ordered fish and chips and as you will see in the picture, we were all pleasantly surprised. We all had a taste and it was good! Unfortunately, I was having such a good time and forgot to get more detail on everyone else's meals. I will say that all of us raved about the food.
It's definitely worth a visit.
I want to go back to try other dishes.

Read moreI keep forgetting to post my review about this nice little pub. The decor of the place is a pub 👌🏼 😎 but on to the food, my husband heard about the fish and chips here, and he knows I love a good fish and chips 🍟 😋 🙌🏼 when I ordered the fish 🐟 I was expecting to see like you normally get, the cod shaped fish that you see at other places, boy was I wrong. When she placed the food in front of me I was like, wow that's a whole fish 😳 and dove right in, the batter was nice and crispy but not too crispy, just the right crisp. The fish was so good and easy to eat 😋 I enjoyed the fries that came with it but I didn't really like the coleslaw. My only complaint about the fish was the batter fell off 😩 lol I wish it stayed on it but I still devoured the food 💕 our appetizer was fried corned beef & cabbage eggrolls, it was ok but I should have taken a picture of my husband's burger 🍔 he had the Jameson burger and I took a bite of it and my taste buds where so happy at the flavor that burger has 😋 but we will back someday cause I love my...
Read moreWe stopped here for dinner before a show at the opera house. We decided to try it because my husband and I love a good pub. This was not that. The service was so slow and our waiter admitted he forgot about us- I appreciate his honesty but let’s talk about the food. It was inedible or if you really wanted to punish yourself, you could eat it. The “amazing” fish and chips was so very greasy and the fries were cold and had soaked up the grease from the fried fish. The tablespoon of tartar sauce wasn’t near enough to help. I ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup. My soup and sandwich hit the table cold- the soup had a dried film on the top where it had been sitting so long and the soup itself couldn’t be described as warm. I took one bite of my grilled cheese and had to put it down and push it away. I can not recommend this place. It was a horrible waste of...
